@spendius,
Their argument has a simple anology. Modern transportation is evil because people die in cars. If we eliminate cars, the world will be better off.

If you're blind to all of the current and past history,
Lets discuss that history, shall we ? What was the first and second deadliest wars ? Were they religiously motivated ? I suppose the Nazis were Atheists.....

@Ionus,
All wars are deadly. Humans engage in wars and religion as part of our nature.

That argument is beneath you arty. It seems you are a racist, we just have to agree on who are the niggers.

Meanwhile in science land, excavators unearthing exciting transitional fossils are completely unaware of Austrailian custodians who disapprove of their discovery.

You have correctly identified the problem but failed to apportion it to the correct person.

I can't say I do Io. They have that basic flaw that one might say almost anything about them, given the range of choice, and they cannot answer back. They are ideal in that respect for anti-Iders who, as I had Gerard Manley Hopkins explain earlier, expect, indeed are astonished, that their state of mind is not shared by everyone. Fake fossils are even more suitable for the purpose.

I can see no educational purpose to them outside of providing ammunition for those who feel a vocation to make a career in fossil science. They seem to provide stimulation to the necrophiliac tendency and to those who prefer looking backwards to looking forwards. They have a sinister aspect not unlike Hamlet contemplating Yorick's skull.
