"dim" in this instance meaning a lack of intelligence and Rhode scholars are selected for their intelligence, I would say they ARE mutually exclusive.

I just saw the Dutch National Ballet company do Giselle on Sky Arts. That's the sort of thing to get a proper understanding of evolution. See what people with real talent think about our place in nature and nature itself. Clerks and counter-jumping "scientists" have no idea.

I bet Stalin had that banned.

If you want to know why I'm on the side I'm on watch that.

@Ionus,
I said already I went to a church school. Bible class many times a week. I remember one kid in the class asking about king Salomon keeping hundreds of "wives and porcupines" and the teacher saying you can't take everything literally, there are deep mystical meanings in the text. For a long time I thought Salomon kept porcupines as pets. 700 of them but I guess concubines would be a little hard to explain but no harder than the 300 wives, so what?

Nobody ever said anything about religion in chemistry or physics or math class. Or geography. Or biology. So how can you make common cause with this other guy here? If you're a Christian you know “Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s, and unto God the things that are God’s” . I don't think kids are too stupid to sort this out, do you?

That's no psychosis that's our system in the US. Other countries are different, is that your point?

He has gone on record to try to trash Bill Clinton in the past.

I deny that. I have never trashed any president. Nor would I.

And I know Bill Clinton was at Oxford on a Rhodes Scholarship. I admired the bloke. He was very funny I thought. And there is no evidence that he ever had sex with Monica. He never told any lies about that as far as I'm concerned. I know what sex is. He backed down to save himself explaining. It was an ease of the bone job.

He was Gov at 32 and a professor before that. He was a political genius and would have been re-elected if the law had allowed. I still can't understand why Mrs Clinton isn't President. You could have had Bill for another 8 years. By which time Chelsea would have been old enough and you could have had 8 more after that.

I never trashed him. I don't "suck up" to authority of the sort democracies get. I admire people who have the talent to get it. I admire the football players for the same reason. I never trash any of them either.

That might be better aimed at those who say religion has no place in schools. I am happy for that to occur.

@Ionus,
Thanks for the reference to the Hitchhiker book. You want to look up a book called "The Best and the Brightest". Intelligent people can do very stupid things, is this news to you?

No, telling people you know what they believe despite them having spent thousands of posts telling you different is getting close to psychotic.

@Ionus,
The quote box is messed up in your post but I get your point. So we agree. How can you also agree with Spendius, he doesn't understand the difference between Cesar and God?

@electronicmail,
If I may paraphrase Spendi's position and I hope I get it right.....he wants religion taught in schools because evolution is not the watertight theory some want it to be, and if it comes to a choice between evolution and religion, religion is more beneficial to people and society. If everyone believed in evolution, why wouldnt they commit crime ? At least religion gives people a reason to be good citizens, evolution says rape and murder are OK because only your genes matter.

Cesar. God. And ne'er the twain shall meet. What else is there to explain? Thanks for trying.

Not a lack of intelligence actually. "Dim" is as dim does. With high intelligence there also lies the opportunity for high dimness.

When Jindhal toadied to the Evangelical Fundamentalists, he lost all credibility that his Rhodes scholarship may have conferred. The Rhodes scholarship is conferred , based on academic achievement,political dimness is acquired when one gives up all pretense of logic and , instead, kow tows with the political power base no matter how "dim" their message remains.

When cornered, Youve stated that you dont want anything but science taught in science class. How do you then, see Intelligent Design? Do you see ID as science or religion? I

REmember EM IONUS says that "evolution says that rape and.... blah blah blah" All that means is that hes not informed enough to make an argument without dredging up gut hooks.

The study of animals. If it works, it is evolution. If it doesnt, it is extinct. Eating your own children is well supported by evolution.

But if you're right the jails should be chock-full of evolutionary biologists convicted of rape and murder and infanticide and cannibalism. How many cases do you know?

I see it as philosophy. Internal to itself, there is nothing wrong with the argument that God created the world. ID is poor science and desperate religion.
