AS FAR AS THE TOPIC. Im really glad that youve finally understood that the US is presently engaged in what have been called the "culture wars" in which a small but vocal group of Evangelical Christians have been seeking to impose their beliefs into the science curricula of several states. The laws and amendments of the Constitution have been reinterpreted since the 1960's in which the issue of "THE ESTABLISHMENT CLAUSE" of the 1st AMENDMENT has been considerably redefined by the Fed Districts and the US SUPREME COURT.

In these decisions, a series of cases involving "Equal and balanced teaching of Creationism and Evolution" and "Creation SCIENCE" and "Intelligent DESIGN" have been adjudicated with gusto. The Evangelicals have been trying their best to fight against or retard these decisions and ( pompous assed folks like spendi) have thought they could bluff their way into the curricula of specific schools. (In the US, when a case is heard in the SUpreme court it is usually grown from a previous case involving a local (usually state) issue). When the US SUPREMES hear the case and render a decision, it becomes law for the US.

Now, in the case of DOVER PA and the INtelligent Design issue, The FEDERAL DISTRICT JUDGE rendered a decision based on the evidence and opinions provided him by both sides. HE took time in his decison to excoriate the defense (THE IDERS) about the fraudulent case they tried to make . The judge called their case "Breathtaking Inanity". Now that decision only effects the 3rd Fed District which includes several Mid Atlantic states and Puerto Rico.

The US has, and always will be a state with a separation of church and state, unless the SUpremes are stacked with Evangelical Christians since they are the only group vocal enough to want to actually inculcate the kids with their mytheopoiea. All other religions are pretty much in agreement with solid science teaching and evolution, they say, is based upon a "mountain of evidence" (the Roman Catholic Churches own statement). Even The Mormon University (Brigham Young) has a very competent biology and evolutionary biology department
