Democrats - the Party of Whiners.

"Democrats regard self-responsibility as a "recipe for failure." In other words, Democrats don't think the American people are capable of making it on their own."

Well that's a load of horseshit. The issue is that with 47 million people living in poverty making it on their own isn't the same game let alone in the same ballpark as those who are middle or upper class. There isn't any liberal I know who demands equality of result, but there are many who want equality of opportunity, AND THE QUESTION I ASK IS WHY DON'T YOU?

I APOLOGISE FOR THE TYPO, typing in a 4 for 3

In 2006, 36.5 million NOT 47 MILLION people were living
in poverty, The official poverty rate in 2006 was 12.3 percent,

New data released today by the U.S. Census Bureau shows that the percentage of Americans in poverty increased from 12.3 percent in 2006 to 12.5 percent in 2007. However, these figures do not paint a complete picture of America's struggling low-income families.

@kuvasz,
2007 figures just came out about a week ago.

37.26 million in poverty
http://www.census.gov/prod/2008pubs/p60-235.pdf

Of those it looks like about 33.75 million are US citizens

There is no designation of legal vs illegal resident.

@H2O MAN,
So, what are you saying now, H20 Man?

You're just as pathetic as most Republicans are. I wish you were whiners
instead.
