@H2O MAN,

Indeed thay will not
Quote:If only your Luger could talk...
Yes; a sad tale, but probably interesting; possibly shocking.
There is visible hand wear on it.
I remember the first time I saw one:
it was in the hand of a Catholic Priest, who said: "This is a German Luger"
I was struck by the sleek lines of its configuration. I was 6 years of age.
It stayed in my memory.
Over half a century later, I sought to buy a replica of a luger
(NOT the new little .22s). My efforts were futile for a long time.
At gunstores, I was told that "everyone is looking".
Then at a local gunstore, I got it
AN ORIGINAL engraved 1940
with matching serial numbers on all numbered parts. So to speak,
it just fell into my hands, very unexpectedly for a mere $600; thrilled.
Quote:Does your 445 look something like this?
It sure does; thay are
BEAUTIES. I coud stare at it
(and other members of my collection) for a long time.
If u 'll pardon my boasting: I have been accosted at gunnery ranges
by shooters, including the police, commending me on the esthetics of my guns.
I got the 445 ported; recoil is not too bad.
U can get used to it.
For fun, I loaded my Super Blackhawk with alternating rounds
of .44 special and magnum, at a local gunnery range: WOW !! BIG DIFFERENCE
In my opinion, the power of .44 magnum is such as to be
only for defensive use against large, heavy animals.
For anti-personnel purposes, I deem hollowpoined .44 special to be best
to put the brakes on. Overpenetration can be dangerous
and u wanna deliver as much of the muzzle energy into the target as possible.
If I may state the obvious:
the name of the game is stopping power.
