Michelle Obama's speech was breathtaking. She accomplished exactly what needed to be accomplished, to let the public know her and her family and their relationship with Barack.
It was real, she is real. That is the kind of family that can't be staged because it is so extraordinary. Most of us have seen too many staged political speeches not to be able to recognize a speech that powerfully describes what Barack and the family are all about and what their priorities are. She was passionate and real.
After Barack's two terms are over, I hope she runs for president.

@Diane,
I agree. She did much better than I had been conditioned to expect.

OK: Night One. Big mistake not attacking the Bush administration, "their war," McCain,... I know they wanted to humanize Michelle and give Obama some cred, but couldn't they have trotted out ONE attack dog? I would have advised that significant time ---AIR TIME--be spent attacking the GOP and the current administration each night.
Winners: The Obama kids, the Bush administration and Michelle...in that order.
Just catching it now. Holy crap! Michelle kicks ass!
(Damn quick catch, Tico. Yer a smart fella)

@Lash,
Only caught Michelle and the kids so far, and each hit 3 pointers. Wow. Mark her words thanking Hillary for breaking the glass ceiling. She may just be the one. My opinion of Barack just went up.

@Lash,
LOL they didn't attack McCain/Bush enough!!!??? What rot.
According to your keen political judgment, McCain isn't even the Republican nominee as you assured this forum months ago that it could not happen.
And now it's Tom Harkin - who, Soz will be pleased to hear, started off giving a few sentences of welcome and thanks in sign language before starting to speak.
Oh, that's nice!
(Just found this thread, enjoying the ability to reply to one post and then go back to where I was... thanks for starting it, Lash!)
