Are you comfortable with Bush's forays into foreign policy and diplomacy?

Can one use the words "Bush", "Foreign Policy," and "Diplomacy" in the same sentence?

I was incredibly worried during the run-up.
I agree with the far-reaching goal, and thought it had to be done.
I agree with his stances and speeches to the UN.
Was disappointed in their response. Wish they had signed on.
I think many of his words are being twisted to suit others' political purposes.
I also thought the sanctions were hurting and killing more innocent people than the war did.
I am very happy that Iraq is on the way to democratically-elected government--and I think in the long run, this will make an incredible, positive difference in the ME, and the world.
I think he prosecuted Afghanistan very well, and it is also good for the world, and Afghanistan that the Taliban does not hold power.
I also think people, who sit back and criticise Afghanistan should be pulling for success there.
I don't like the Patriot Act...but I think its necessary to cut into terrorist groups and individuals living in our country. I think it is working to our advantage.
I don't think Bush is perfect, but I think he has done a very good job with what fell into his lap.
I think a furtherance of Clinton's Saddam policies would have been a huge mistake. Bush's choices weren't pretty, but I think they were necessary.

So do 70% of Iraqis. They are the ones who did the majority of the suffering. I think their opinions should hold the most weight re: Was the War Worth It?

I agree that his action relative to Afghanistan and applaud him for it.
However, his preemptive attack on Iraq was IMO premature. And as it turned out made based upon a falsehood and deception.

I concur however, the outcome remains to be seen. It is a little premature for that judgement to be made.We are after all dealing with people of the Middle East. I would be afraid to put too many eggs in that basket.
Diplomatically and interface with foreign nation his administration has been a dismal failure. Or maybe a rageing success if the purpose was to turn the world against the US. I guess that is all in the perception.

I would rate his presidency a C— Same as the grade he achieved at Yale.

AU--

I respect your opinion that Iraq was premature. I could've waited longer, but I bet my left tit that the outcome would've been the same. And, you know the importance I place on my lovely pair...

I also assert that Bush did ask the UN, and sent Powell to make the case. We did fail, but the Bush administration did make an attempt at diplomacy.

He has had good meetings with Putin, Shroeder and forged good relationships with many world leaders.

But, a C- from you is not too bad.

Post moved to here on the US, UN, Iraq thread because of inordinate digression.
