Hills! See, I didn't know about the hills. Hills came up before in the discussion with P'ash, I thought Columbus was pancakey. Glad to know about hills.

Pics would be groovy. Very Happy

What about snow/ climate?

Ehem, did someone already post this website

Compare Two Cities ?

You even can compare the climate of where you, Soz, live now and if the sozlet would like the new one better (both are mentioned ).

more Chihuly in the Palm House at the Conservatory.

the Christmas display started last weekend - so hundreds of poinsettias are displayed (I was amazed by all the varieties) inside - and there's a gorgeous poinsettia tree every Christmas there - and there is a Christmas tree display outside - I wish I could have stayed a few more days to go again to see the trees and the Chihuly exhibit at night.

This was one of the trips where I really was given a nice tour of the town. We talked a lot about the arts community in town. It really does seem like a very decent town. I wish I'd had the opportunity to take more photos of some of the houses as we were driving around. There are definitely some good opportunities to get an older home - whether already white-painted, or still in need of reno. I'll have to get the lad to come back and talk about some of the buildings he showed me - some really interesting architecture. I'm very keen on Art Deco - and there were some fine fine examples.

Dublin is #2 place to live in the Central region, according to Money Magazine (which dubbed Madison #1 place to live when I was there.)

Is that good or bad?

http://money.cnn.com/best/bplive/details/3922694.html

One thing that was alarming -- the air pollution index was 179, average was 100, lower is better, rank is 1,239 out of 1,260. Confused For asthmatic E.G., that seems like it could be bad. (On the other hand, he had no problem with L.A., so... it's the wet, moldy stuff that causes problems.)

Found three things about Dublin that look interesting:

- Right across the river from the Columbus zoo! (Er, unless that has to do with the air pollution thing...)

- "Dublin is one of the fastest growing communities in Central Ohio. The city takes pride in its cultural diversity with over 40 nations represented in its student body. The strong academic program and community involvement were sited as the reasons Dublin Schools were chosen as tops in the state by The Cleveland Plain Dealer."

- "The Dublin Schools were catapulted into the forefront of the nation when Bill Moyers called it the 'best in the nation' during his nationally broadcasted documentary, 'Children in America's Schools.'"

Bill Moyers, I trust.

hmmmmm
need to bump this up to get Setanta and other Ohioans to comment

I would say that you don't want to be close to any river round there. They seem to have a lot of flooding around Columbus. People living down in the floodplain.
