Just got the news that Tim Russert passed away; died at work.
He seems too young! He will be missed. I can't remember the guy ever being mean to anyone. May he rest in peace.
He was young; I think in his mid-fifties.
A very sad loss.
He was the best political interviewer on TV. I watched "Meet the Press" faithfully. If you really wanted to see someone confronted with the hard questions, you wanted them interviewed by Russert. He was absolutely committed to getting the truth, which is journalism at its finest.
Having listened to all of his colleagues speaking about him for the best few hours, it is clear that he was genuinely liked and very highly respected by just about everyone who knew him. He seems to have been a very nice and caring person.
He was much too young to have left us.
58 years...way too young. I can't imagine news without him. OH it is a sad day.
Assuming the network will try to keep the show alive, who could take his place, and keep the show going? I have a feeling a woman will be given the position. Youngish, and bright. I don't want to mention any names.
Tavis Smiley would be good. He has an urban arc in his interviews.
I don't think I can watch it anymore without being seriously sad. It just won't be the same. How did that happen? I don't know him. So strange how attached we become to these folks on television.
