Either:
It has been six years since we talked.
or
It had been six years since we had talked.
(In the present) I saw John today. It has been six years since we talked.
(In the past) I saw John in 2005. It had been six years since we had talked.

OR
It has been six years since we have/we've talked.
Past tense
In regard to the previous posts of past/present tense, is there a difference between had talked and have talked?
or I told her not to do it. I have told her not to do it.
I really can't tell the difference because they are all past tense.
Can someone kindly explain it to me? Thanks.
I have trouble deciding which one of the following is grammatically correct? (By the way, trouble is a verb. Is that sentece, "I have trouble deciding" correct? Or should I say I have troubles deciding/ I have troubled deciding?)
