farmerman, the problem dont seem to be Zippo at all imo but in what Israel is doing in Gaza and the West Bank. It's a horror. Good faith negotiations by Israel on a 2 state solution using the 1967 borders would solve many problems. But Israel is not negotiating in good faith. Green line borders are the consensus on earth save for Israel. The Apartheid Wall was built beyond those borders and that says a lot. The assassination of Rabin was very telling also. A 2 state solution is there for the taking but I fear for the life of an Israeli leader who attempts to negotiate that deal as Rabin did. History is a good teacher and that assassination spoke volumes.

ossobuco, well I confess to following a lot of what both Zippo and farmerman have to say and also confess to following events daily in Gaza and the ME. I mention Rabin here because his assassination came minutes after a huge and joyous rally where a 2 state solution seemed about to happen do to the hard work of Rabin and Arafat and Bill Clinton. Prior to the assassination there were many calls by fundamentalist Rabbis for Rabin's assassination. Why? because they interpreted scripture to say that it was G-d's will that such a man who would trade land for peace be killed. Those Rabbis openly danced and celebrated the assassination and that is the mindset ruling Israel today and ever since. Jews who speak out against the harshness of Israeli policy are branded not as anti-semites but as self hating Jews. Swift Boating soundbites by rabid fundamentalists just as happens in this country. I'll be interested in what farmerman has to say about 2 states using 1967 borders and what Zippo has to say on that also although I have a good idea what they both think in that regards. farmerman, you can look forever without finding a post by me blaming Israel for 911. You will find many by me calling for new and real investigations of 911. So how do you feel about 2 states and Green Line borders?
