There's no need to worry - the feds were after suspicious money transfers, not prostitutes.
It's something in the air around here - the governor of CT played poker every Thursday with mob-related people who kept losing considerable cash; the governor of NJ (a married man) appointed his boyfriend (a foreign citizen) to a no-show top homeland security post in his state in order to pass some cash on to him; and our own state controller (who, among other things, attempted extortion against Swiss banks operating in New York) was found using state drivers, other employees, and taxpayers' money for his wife.
Spitzer is a crass hypocrite who prosecuted countless innocents under the Mann Act, and a cheap date, to boot, haggling with the escort service about a few hundred bucks when he has a net worth of $500m. Oh, and did I mention he's a Hillary Clinton supporter - whatever evils befall him few will be sorry
I am surprised that this hooker business makes people feel ethically superior. I was already feeling ethically superior on the basis that Spitzer was governor of New York.
Nimh is a bit of a hoor, I like that!
As for Spitzer, I can't wipe the smirk off my face.
Yes lots of politicians do dirty deeds and can be found to be less-than-moral and in this day and age we are becoming immune to it but it's no less a disgrace because they put themselves in positions of power and actually rave about what we all should and shouldn't do and actually go after those that they deem bad (or should I say good for their climb to the top?). S'like it's no big deal.
Well Clinton was a charming man who people liked
Spitzer is a nasty vicious viper who many people hate
This news is going to be just the ammunition that 'certain' people need to take Mr. Spits to the wood-shed and it couldn't have happened to a 'nicer' guy.

Hard to tell if you're talking about Spitzer or Rudy.
They're all hoors, you included!
Please do not point that thing at me.

You don't need the fall of a major public figure to enforce your self-worth--there are plenty of people who are more dense than you. Even though I've never met you, I know they are out there.
As for whether E. Spitzer is more dense than you, well...it's creepy you would even draw a parallel between you and him.

Interesting
Dys wouldn't dare engage in "hoordom". Diane would kill him.

You are quite right.
But then I like calling everyone a hoor!
Actually it's quite a compliment coming from me!
Why I called Boomer a sexy bitch earlier!
Heeven, I got it right away. And you can call me a sexy bitch anytime at all--that is until you meet me...
How do you spell nouveau millionaire?
She lives about two blocks from where I work, I don't recognize her though, she looks like any of the other millions of women here in the city.
Joe(Strangers on the bus, slobs like one of us.)Nation
My best to her, she is an attractive young lady.....
Men! I need inputs for coefficients of an econometric model I'm writing:
I got oil at $100/bbl, gold at $1,000/oz, and I need to know: would it be useful to add escort services at $1,000/hr ?
As I understand it the lady in question got paid $4,000 for 4 hours, but the ex-governor only used 2 of those hours since he had to testify at the Senate Finance Committee hearing the next day. Is this $1,000/hr a market-clearing rate? Is it untypical? Does it represent a sudden increase from historical trend lines?
Of course any data you give me would only be known to you by hearsay from other men, but I'd appreciate it anyway - thanks!
Thanks High Sea, I laughed out loud.
Initial reports were, are still are, confused. The total cost of the evening was about $4000.oo, but that included several items not related to what should be referred to as the labor fee.
These include train (not air?!) fare roundtrip, taxis, the hotel room and the open bar for a full twelve hours and other fees to the pimp, er, booking agent and the money transfer agency (shell corporation, yes, but still the pimp.
The remainder, approximately - I have not been able to divine from news report the exact amounts paid (these news reporters seem to be focusing not so much on the economics of this enterprise for some odd reason.) amounts to between $1000 and $1200 dollars (US). Of that, the laborer must share 50% to her slaveholder, er, employer. She is entitled to keep any "tips" offered by the client.
So, let's best case this: she gets $600.oo in fees and let's say a 25% tip from Mr. Sometimes Asks to Do Things That You Might Not Think Are Safe.
Thats - (mmm .25 X 6.....move the decimal point.....) a total of $750.00 but let's remember that the worker had to leave her New York apt, travel to Washington and return about 14 hours later.
She was on the road more than she was on the mattress.
If we are generous about the time she may have spent sleeping (6 hours) that still leaves her making a little less than a $100.00 an hour which, if my chart from the US Census is correct, is way less than what the divorce attorney will charge but still more then any person who makes econometric models makes.

Around here we would say "nouveau riche", which carries a pejorative connotation..

Your comparison lack integrity joe sorry. Compare apples with apples. All costs incurred by a divorce attorney are paid from his billable fee. Such as office space, secretarial and support staff.
