@ican711nm,
You're asking them to actually discuss the subject, Ican. That would require them to divert from making juvenile schoolyard insults about other members and then congratulating each other for doing it. You expect a lot I think.

As opposed to your and Ican's constant juvenile insults about Obama and other elected Democrats?

Well, I know as much about it now as I knew before, which means I still think I'm right in my assessment. Of course, if you'd be willing to explain your position in your own words instead of wasting precious electrons with your mind-numbing copy-and-paste jobs, then I'd be happy to reconsider.

Foxie will never figure that one out! She doesn't think her insults are insults, but compliments. LOL

The obvious problem is that you can't tell the difference.

Fox hit the nail pretty squarely on the head. Just watch the replies.

There is no difference whatsoever.

I find the concept to be hilarious, that you honestly believe that you have the capacity to understand anything that I don't. You are a moron, displaying ignorance on practically every political and economic issue you post about. You are, barring the more active trolls, one of the most consistently idiotic people who post here.

So this last post of yours was really quite laughable - though I don't expect you to understand why.

And this post is no different than every time one of you guys calls Obama a poopy-head; the difference between the two of us is that you don't see me up on a high horse claiming I'm better than you are, because I have the balls to insult you in the middle of a conversation, and you bunch only do so towards elected officials and at a remove.

@Cycloptichorn,
Well it is sometimes true that the disciple or devotee or worshipper becomes so emotionally entangled with the object of his adoration that he considers any criticism or critique of his 'god' as a personal affront and is incapable of differentiating between discussion of the attributes of the 'god' and his own attributes. Interesting phenomenon that.

The last time I saw it manifested was when militant Muslims demanded the head of a Danish cartoonist who dared caricature the Prophet Mohammed.

Now, you're insulting Obama again; which I really don't care about (been there, done that), other than the fact that it neatly proves my above point.

Mmm hmm. I'm sure you could appeal to a bigger Extreme if you tried; it is one of your core skills.

Also quite interesting how conservatives seem to have a need to use religious imagery to describe the world around them. From the "Good vs. Evil" rhetoric of the neocons to the occasion when President Bush proclaimed "I'm driven with a mission from God. God would tell me, 'George, go and fight those terrorists in Afghanistan.'", from the self-righteousness of the anti-abortion faction to the campaigns against gay marriage, conservatives seem to believe that God is on their side.

It's really fitting that they would constantly smear someone as a false Messiah if feel threatened by political ideas they despise. The Saudi Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice would be envious.

@old europe,
Actually I haven't seen much religious based argument being argued by MACs to support modern American conservative values. I only see such manifested by those on the Left who mostly see their 'messiah' as the one who will lead them out of the darkness and who is capable of no evil and no error. (Oh and they can't tell the difference between criticisms of the President or other Democrats and personal insults directed at other members here on A2K.)

Well, the "conservative values" propagated on this thread include such gems as tearing limbs off of terrorism suspects to make them talk or impeaching the President because only someone who supports a flat tax system doesn't violate the Constitution. Good luck with that.

Well if you want to make this a war of misrepresented concepts, I'm sure we could find some real gems among your posts and many others to use in that way as you just misrepresented 'conservative' values here.

I could come here every day and examine what a colossal ass hole you are. You make it easy to do, but I choose not to because I am actually better then you. Pretty much in every way imaginable. I am smarter then you, I am wealthier then you, I have better beliefs then you, my wife is prettier then yours, my car is better then yours, my bank account is bigger then yours, my job is better then yours, I spend my time online better then you do, I cook better then you, the list goes on and on.

But, see, I know this already so I don't need to impress my online friends by being a douche bag to other patrons of A2K, unlike you. Instead, I insult the people that you align with and explore their failures, and by reflection, yours. You have no subtlety. You are like an 13 year old young man that just realized that his cock can get hard and wants to show everyone whether anyone else wants to see it or not. Believe me, no one else is impressed with your 3 inch cock. Well, maybe a few are, but that's only because they are of similar mind.

So, enjoy your laughter while you're reading my posts. Someday, you'll realize that you don't need to be a rude prick to make a point and you don't need to brandish your cock about for people to like you. Someday you will understand what adulthood and conversation with people not exactly like you is actually about. Someday... maybe... won't be soon though.

You misrepresented my statements. Actually I believe that you intentionally and dishonestly misrepresentated my statements, but since you didn't give me that option. . .

Hey! I'd still like the MACs out there to answer my question:

Quote:
Now, to be sure, there are plenty of people on the left whom I find embarrassing. Fortunately, I think many of the left-wing anti-Semites and 9/11 "truthers" didn't make the transition to the new A2K, but there are others with whom I'd still prefer not to be associated. Is that the same with you "MACs," or is "modern American conservatism" such a big tent ideology that you'll take any harebrained crank that comes along, spouting the latest in an endless series of increasingly implausible theories as to why the constitution was really written by people apparently as deranged as they are, so long as they're sufficiently conservative?
