@cicerone imposter,
When I was a young woman in my 20s, I went to Planned Parenthood for my annual PAP smear, breast exam and regular check ups. Cheaper and easier for me due to the evening office hours. Many other women use the organization for the same reasons.

I doubt it in that Planned parenthood is all about limiting procreation.

I bet you would approve of welfare moms being sent to PP. Furthermore, there is a logical fallacy in your statement. CI wrote that only 3% of PP's funding is used for abortions. Did you know that there are birth control pills and diaphragms? Or do you prefer the Russian roulette of rhythm?

@okie,
What insults? You show no evidence of being logical, practical or educated. Maybe, someone else posts here under your name!

Here, you accuse me of not working. When I was a stay-at-home mother, a job which Dr. Phil trumpets as the equivalent of holding two 40-hour-per-week jobs, I baked bread and made clothes for my kids and myself. All food was cooked from scratch and people asked me to cater for them. That's work.

Since receiving my second master's degree summa cum laude, I have held down up to three jobs at a time. Currently, I work 6 days a week.

BTW, I am taxed on my 28 cents.

You reserve the right to call me a whacko. Take your 96 IQ and try to learn something.

@plainoldme,
PP provides cancer screenings and other health services that has nothing to do with abortion. I'm at a lost as to why conservatives are out to destroy PP; throw out the baby with the bath water? They don't care about women's health issues to save dollars to give bigger tax breaks to the wealthy.

I don't understand why "real" humans would support the republican party, because their main goal is to destroy all service programs including funding for our schools. What is so sacred about giving more tax cuts to the rich? Don't they understand that the growing national debt will destroy our economy?

@cicerone imposter,
Did you purposefully use the expression "throw the baby out with the bath water?" It was apt. The right throws the baby out because they really don't care about it.

@cicerone imposter,
When my daughter was in college, she temped for a few weeks one summer at Brigham's and Women's Hospital in Boston on a cancer ward. An anti-abortion picketer spat in her face. That's the level those people operate on.

@okie,
pom, i just put you on ignore, as you really are a waste of time here to debate. I wish you the best and wish you no ill, but I think its best we part ways for a while. To sum it up, I've had enough of your baseless insults and nonsense. I have pretty much given up on you to improve your attitude..

Could it be because I use facts? Or is it the logic that is such a trap for him? What about general cultural knowledge? How about simply reading a map? Knowing the alphabet?

Yet, it is alright when this non entity who thinks seatbelts cause SUVs insults me. It is alright when he spent close to a week asking prurient questions about my divorce. It is alright for him to insult me regularly, simply because he has a 6th grade reading level.

Hmm! What should I do? Use this golden opportunity to really insult him? Or go out on payday and buy a nice bottle of a Rhone white to celebrate?

@plainoldme,
And anti-war protestors have burned down military recruiting centers, have spat in the face of soldiers, and have tried to bar military recruiters from college campuses.

Thats the level the left operates on.

@cicerone imposter,
Nope.
You missed my point.
POM painted everyone on the right with the same brush, so I did the same thing, trying to show that painting with so broad a brush is wrong, no matter who is getting painted.

Now you are doing the same thing.

mm, To that extent, I agree with you that "painting with a huge brush" isn't the smartest way to make a point.

What conservatism does for all of us:

I've seen some crazy stuff,
but this takes the cake

One of the biggest and most important seed banks in the world is at risk of being replaced by a private housing development.

The facility near the Russian city of St Petersburg houses thousands of varieties of plants, not found anywhere else in the world.

During World War II Russian plant scientists literally starved rather thanDuring World War II Russian plant scientists literally starved rather than save themselves by eating the seeds in this seed bank during a brutal multi-month siege by the Nazis.

To my mind, this was one of the greatest demonstrations of human nobility in history.

Now this one of a kind, irreplaceable collection of living genetic material is going to be destroyed for condo?

They've got to be kidding.
