As the credits began to roll, I felt as if I had been robbed.
I left the theater in complete shock, I replayed important parts of the movie
in my mind's eye to re-evaluate the movie to see if I had missed something, to no avail. I had acknowledged the "AWESOME" acting, especially from one
of my favorite actors....D. Lewis but, I was flabbergasted by the story.
It seemed to have veered in numerous directions, never committing to any of them.
I mean this movie is positioned to receive award upon award but, still
I can't fathom the meaning, the overall point.
I have read some bad reviews that seem to support my confusion on the matter but they are few and far between, so, if you aware of the point or moral of this movie, I'd like to discuss it.
??? errm........ which movie?
Check out the title of the thread, DP.
It's #30 on the imdb.com site, just before "It's a Wonderful Life."

Ah! I thought the title was a reference to his state of mind after parting with the cold hard cash for crap.

Your welcome however, you might still want to check it out.
This movie is expected to receive numerous awards so, there must be something I'm missing.
No one has offered up an opposing view.
I could look up reviews and explanations but I would rather hear it from
someone less encumbered with Hollywood. An everyday person.

Well I can't be wrong about my own opinion however, I would be willing to admit that the majority of people agree that this is a great movie and obviously I am missing something.
I'm not here to debate it's worthiness, just trying to grasp the meaning.

I'm not suggesting you are wrong, I'm just commenting based upon prior observations.

So, I'm not the only one!
BTW, for those who are wondering, the movie was 20 bucks cuz I had a chick with me.
Everyone should save their ticket money, go the library, and take out
Upton Sinclair's book "Oil". It's a much better story about the same time period and the kind of people who became obsessed with black gold.
