I personally would leave the guy alone.
Right now, the the field of cholesterol chemistry and physiology is up in the air. LDL levels should be low, but not too low, while HDL levles should be high, but not too high.
Even the role of the drugs called "STATINS" is being questioned. Some investigators even question whether these drugs are beneficial to patients.
