Errr... based on what I know of the people that have posted in this thread I'd say somewherein the range of 70% - 80% of them.

Yes, I'd agree with that. It seems that the majority on the Politics board are baby boomers (like myself) or older and easily remember all those events Flaja listed.

So Flaja, before we let this abused thread die a painful, ignominious death, will you at least admit that cafepress.com is an Internet storefront rather than a political outfit?

Based on my understanding of this board I could easily see where many of the participants here are not Americans, so what would they know of the Carter Administration or when Nixon left office? What wold these things matter to them?

Umm.. lessee who has posted here..

Hanno - no location, but I believe American
Ebrown - Location: Boston, MA
Edgarblythe - Location: Houston, TX
Engineer - Location: Wilmington, NC
Real life - no location, but I believe American
Me - Hungary
Cyclo - Location: Berkely, CA
Ebeth - Canada
Fishin - Location: Boston, MA
Hamburger - Canada
Kickycan - Location: New York, NY
Tommrr - Location: Fair Oaks, CA

Grand total:

9 Americans
3 Foreigners

So, basically, you claim that you know better because the people you're talking with are younger and/or foreign - except 70/80% of the people you're talking with is as old as you are, and 75% of the people you're talking with is American.

Stop digging..

The last time I checked, Canada is not in the United States of America.

Again, the last time I checked, Canada is not in the United States of America.

3 non-Americans and 2 for which you don't really know. Furthermore, I was not talking only about the participants in this thread. I was talking about the board in general. Non-Americans like Walter Hinterler and Ramafuchs are not included in your list. And you have shown in another thread that you don't understand American geography, so how can you understanding something as complicated as American politics?

Some dang funny stuff on this thread...

Compromise is an interesting word. In order for it to happen you have to at least listen to the other side. This thread certainly shows the pitfalls in diplomacy as practiced by hard line conservatives. If they won't compromise on the starting points then how can you compromise on anything in discussions? I seem to recall there were major discussions and compromise just to decide where and how to meet for the Paris Peace talks. The shape of the table was a big issue. I would hazard a guess that the majority of those that spend time on this board in the political threads remember that time.

If you spent any time here flaja you would know that most of the regular contributors are over 40.

I've discovered that my local Wal Mart is a profiteering outfit. They sell Giants and Patriots stuff in the same store. Side by side! Clearly they are willing to make money selling merchandise that advocates football teams that the people running it either care nothing about or do not personally support. Makes me sick! Laughing

You equate something as important as politics with something as mundane as football? What kind of idiot are you?

Ooh, and flaja's defensive line can't seem to stop engineer, as he scores another touchdown using logic, knowledge and common sense! Yay, six points on the board for engineer!
