@firefly,
I agree firefy. "The Verdict" was a great film.
I just heard the sad news that Paul Newman died. Crying or Very sad

Here's one from the late fifties:

The old man grasps his stomach in pain. He asks his son to light a cigar for him and pour two drinks. The son pours the drink for his father, but refuses to drink with him. The father says that's the only time he ever saw his son refuse a drink.

@Raggedyaggie,
Early 1960's film

On a wintry day, a couple is driving home from a party they attended at the estate of a very wealthy man. They see a little boy fall through the thin ice of a frozen pond and the man plunges into the icy waters to save the boy.

@firefly,
Funny, I thought of that movie last night (read the book and saw the movie a long time ago) and this morning, while recording a bio of an actress who was in From the Terrace, I decided to take a chance. Laughing

Late forties movie

She walks up to the counter where the veteran is selling perfume. Not permitted to chat with customers, he speaks about the features of the various cosmetics on the counter and quickly slips in an invitation to go to lunch.

@Roberta,
Now, I'm thinking leprechauns.

@Raggedyaggie,
Not even close, Raggedy. You're way off the mark. Turn your attention away from children.

Think big.

@Raggedyaggie,
No to all three. Raggedy, this is not a children's movie. In addition to thinking big, think Lean.
