Decisions. Decisions. OK, I loved the dalmations and Nemo and penguins, however, the topic is:

M = Maternity Ward and childbirth outside the hospital.

and according to Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary:

Child:

1 a: an unborn or recently born person b: dialect : a female infant
2 a: a young person especially between infancy and youth
b: a childlike or childish person
c: a person not yet of age
3 usually childe \ˈchī(-ə)ld\ archaic : a youth of noble birth
4 a: a son or daughter of human parents

and the puppies and fishes and fowls are not persons. Sad

(If I've accepted an answer that doesn't involve the birth of a person, however, it's just going to have to remain on the list, because I just don't feel like revising the list.)

So, bye, bye, Perdita and Nemo, etc., etc., etc.

Need help here. I know that in Rocky II Adrien gives birth. I know she's seen in the hospital after the birth. But is she seen in the hospital maternity ward? Does anybody remember. I'm going to add a very tentative . . .

I'm feeling the same way about Star Wars, feeling somewhat certain that Natalie Portman gave birth to the twins onscreen but...can someone verify this?

Yet another question: in Manny & Lo, the two runaway sisters kidnap the Mary Kay Place character because the older sister is pregnant, and they need an adult to help them with the birth of the baby, and raising it afterwards. But I can't remember if there's actually a childbirth scene in the movie. So, a tentative

31. Manny & Lo

By the way, I saw Amazing Grace today, and at the end of the movie there's a scene of a Scottish military band playing "Amazing Grace" in front of Westminster Abbey, at least one of the band members is wearing a kilt. I just thought I'd mention it, because I figure Roberta will probably run out and see the movie once she's knows there's a kilt involved.

So, I just watched Rocky II and I feel that it qualifies.

Adrian lies in a coma in a private room in the hospital after giving birth to a baby boy. Rocky does not wish to see the baby until Adrian recovers. The only time he leaves her bedside is when he goes to church to pray. In the hospital, he reads a Western to her. He knows she'll recover. She always liked that story when he read it to her. Upon her recovery, the baby is brought into the room and placed in Rocky's arms so that the couple may view the baby for the first time - together. (It had to be the maternity ward because it only took a few seconds for the nurse to bring the baby into the room when Adrian spoke.) Very Happy

29. Rocky II

Don't know anything about the other two tentatives.

The other night I watched "The Wedding Crashers". Vince Vauhgn and Owen Wilson both were lawyers. I've been dying to bring it here but our lawyer list is done. Right? Very Happy

Bree, I think I saw that movie. I don't remember no stinkin' kilt. But I didn't remember any stinkin' kilts.

eoe, Just a question. Don't want to cause any trouble. Is Natalie Portman a human in Star Wars? In fact is anyone a human in Star Wars?

Raggedy, Thanks for the thumbs up on Rocky II.

That's a damn good question Roberta and I think you're right. They would be considered aliens, another species, wouldn't they? My husband, a Star Wars fan, says that Natalie Portman's character was indeed shown in labor in the hospital, which I think would qualify, but now this new question has been asked so...judges?

In the meantime:
