I'll post the "L" topic tomorrow. It's going to be an easy one.

Roberta, I just don't understand what you have against kilts. I think they are so attractive. Very Happy

Well, anyway, I'll add :

21. Formula 51 aka The 51st State - Samuel L. Jackson

http://www.kiltmen.com/khyber.jpg

22. So I Married an Axe Murderer - Mike Myers plays main character and also Scottish father - the above is the wedding scene

23. Intolerable Cruelty - George Clooney wears kilt at wedding

24. A Life Less Ordinary - Ewan McGregor wears kilt at wedding

25. The Rare Breed - Brian Keith dons kilt and plays bagpipes to impress Maureen O'Hara

and, assuming that everyone here wants to move on, here's the new topic that will probably make it to 100:

L = Lawyer

I have nothing against kilts. But trying to remember who wore one in a movie was a challenge. I applaud your extra five.

Oops, spontaneous submission. Raggedy, please change one of these to 32.

Gus, I'm wracking my rapidly deteriorating brain. Please enlighten me. Where was there a lawyer in Jaws?

Remember the scene on the beach when the shark is spotted in the water and everyone panics and start screaming as they madly race from the water?

As the camera pans the crowd you will notice a guy in green swimming trunks, not in the water, but very near the edge, grabbing a little girl and carrying her to safety.

That was Bill Hipscomb, a local lawyer. I don't recall if they ran his name in the credits, but I do have it from reliable sources that it was indeed him.

I will check into it further and get back to you, Roberta. In the meantime carry on the game without me, and, if there are any questions pertaining to the veracity of my statements please omit my entry until concrete evidence has been established.

Yes, of course I remember the scene on the beach.

I have to congratulate on having what must surely be one of the most obscure and bizarre entries I've seen on this thread.

All decisions here are made by Raggedyaggie. She can be tough. I wish you luck.

I am assuming there is a lawyer in Jaws... if not the entry can be aptly replaced with Liar Liar (1997) Laughing

34. Matti (2006), Finnish film about a skier in a lot of trouble
35. A Fish Called Wanda (1988)
36. Mississippi Masala (1991)
37. The Green Mile (1999)
38. American Gigolo (1980)
39. Red Corner (1997)

And that makes 6

His name would not have been listed in the credits unless he had at least one line of dialogue. Martindale-Hubbell legal directory does not list a "William Hipscomb". The directory does list several attorneys with the name "William Lipscomb".
