Too late. All the ones I had in mind were taken by the time I got here. C'est la vie.

Question: Are we allowed to include tv movies? I'm referring to Sybil.

I have the scene from something rattling around in my brain. My the time I figure out what it is, we'll be working on the Js.

A slight mixup in numbering eoe. I've made the changes on my list, but check me out when I recap. Hopefully, I didn't omit any.

eoe: Remember in "Now Voyager", Bette Davis remained a friend of Claude Rains, her psychiatrist, but fell head over heels with the married guy she met on a cruise. I think it was the way he lit two cigarettes at the same time and then handed her one, that started the sparks flying. Very Happy

Yes, in "On A Clear Day You Can See Forever",Barbra went to hypnotist Yves Montand to quit smoking, but since he also delved into her past lives, we'll put him on the list as we've done with some other psychologists/therapists here. Very Happy

61. Strait Jacket - Joan Crawford released after 20 years in asylum
62. The Caretakers - Crawford again. Mistreatment of mentally ill in overcrowded hospital
63. Bedlam - Scary Boris Karloff film about inmates in insane asylum
64 Shock Treatment - Stuart Whitman goes undercover at state mental institution to discover whereabouts of murderer
65. The Dream Team - Dr. Michael Keaton takes 4 mental patients on an outing
66. Home of the Brave - 1949 - Psychiatrist helps soldier deal with racial problems and guilt over the loss of a buddy during the war.

70. Rainman (1988), Dustin Hoffman resides in posh mental home.

I too have these flashes of scenes that I can't place like a doctor accompanying a young woman across a lawn full of fruitcakes to see one of the patients. And there is a film about a woman volunteering to help out in a home for deranged kids and one about a native American girl imprisoned in an asylum and raped by the guard who is saved by a ritual to drive off the bad spirit. Insanity is all over the silver screen, much more so than blindness deafness or muteness or any other physical handicaps. There are also many more terms for mental health patients and institutions than for other afflictions. It makes one wonder.
