Not Lost Boys, and not Shadow of the Vampire.

Is it time for a hint?

The man who tells his date the surprising secret about himself was a real person. The movie is based on his life.

Not Gods and Monsters (but the main character in the movie I'm thinking of had the same occupation as the main character in Gods and Monsters)

P.S. Raggedy, if you haven't seen Ed Wood, the reason why "vampires" was a clue is that Bela Lugosi is one of the characters in the movie. He's played by Martin Landau, who won an Oscar for the part.

Ghostbusters

Oh, Bree, I saw Ed Wood, and I loved Martin Landau, but the old memory bank is getting rather overdrawn these days. Sad

Au contraire, Raggedy, I don't think your memory bank is overdrawn, I think you just have so much on deposit there that it's sometimes hard to find the particular item you're looking for. At least, that's the excuse I always make for myself when I can't remember something I once knew perfectly well!
