Hi Wandeljw. Thanks for the Harold Pinter news. He did indeed write some great screenplays. The first one that came to mind was:

And tell us, what's happening with that movie your lovely daughter will appear in?

Thank you, Raggedy. I never get tired of boasting about my daughter, Katrina.

The movie she worked in as an extra has been re-titled "The Lake House" and will open nationwide on February 3, 2006. It is a romantic drama based on a Korean film. The new adaptation was written by David Auburn who wrote "Proof" (the Broadway play and current Gwynneth Paltrow film).

Aaaah. Katrina is indeed a lovely lady. Thank you for keeping us informed Wandeljw. I'll bet you can't wait until the movie comes out.
Very Happy

Oh, I forgot to say that the picture I posted above isn't for Halloween. It's for the movie I had in mind.

I noticed, while posting today's birthdays on Letty's WA2K thread, that one of the authors and an actress born on this day have a movie in common.

Happy birthday, Angela:

The author:

As long as war is regarded as wicked, it will always have its fascination. When it is looked upon as vulgar, it will cease to be popular.

There is no such thing as a moral or an immoral book. Books are well written, or badly written.

The movie they have in common????????

The quotes are by Oscar Wilde, so the movie would have to be

(the only movie based on an Oscar Wilde book in which Angela Lansbury appeared). Doesn't she look young there?

Nice picture. Yes to Dorian Gray. Yep. She was young. I've never found out whether she did her own singing in that movie. The song was Goodbye, Yellow Bird and I've not been able to find the lyrics on the net.

Has anyone seen any movies they'd like to recommend? I just watched "Finding Neverland" and thought it was very lovely, but also very sad.

"Being Julia" was on Cinemax this afternoon -- if it turns up on their schedule again, it's worth catching. It's by no means a great movie, but it's a lot of fun, and Annette Bening is great (in my opinion, better than Hillary Swank, who beat her for the best actress Oscar).

I definitely agree that Annette Bening deserved the Oscar more than Hilary did!

I watched a movie called Thirteen last night. A horrifying account of what it's like to be that age these days.

I've just checked out "Thirteen" on IMDb, Mac. It's is indeed frightening.

The celebrities below all share a birthday today:

Two of the celebs also have a movie tie-in in keeping with the theme we've been following here. Want to take a guess?

Montgomery Clift appeared in Arthur Miller's "The Misfits".

You got it, Wandeljw.

Do you have a question for us?

Thanks, but I don't have a question at the moment. I just think it's interesting that Arthur Miller's last play was "Finishing the Picture" a fictionalized story of the drama behind the scenes during the filming of "The Misfits".

That is interesting Wandeljw. However, I would think that "Finishing the Picture" would be a very depressing story considering the problems of the stars of the "Misfits". I liked "The Misfits", but Gable's roping scene is too painful to watch now.

I'll try to think of another question, or maybe Bree will have one for us.

mac, did you ever get any of those Greta Garbo stamps we talked about a while ago? I asked for some when I was at the post office today, and the postal clerk told me they can't keep the Garbo stamps in stock -- he said everybody who comes in asks for them. So I settled instead for some Henry Fonda's, which are also very nice:
