I had to google for this one. (I would have guessed the Bible, but I didn't know the exact chapter and verse.)
The title, "Our Vines Have Tender Grapes", comes from the Song of Solomon, from a verse that also provided the title for another movie:
Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.
Exactly.
As for my knowledge of the bible - I owe it all to the movies.
If you're like me, a little of your Bible knowledge probably also comes from crossword puzzles!
Yes, thanks for posting the Keats and for looking up the tender grapes reference, bree.
Almost all my Bible knowledge comes from plays I've worked on. Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Jesus Christ Superstar mostly. Plus a little from those Biblical epics, but I've never had much patience for them.
However......

we must admit that some of those biblical characters were a pleasure to look at.
(Sorry, couldn't resist)
Nice pix! Loved Richard Burton in The Robe.
New question:
Doris Day (2) + Humphrey Bogart (1)
This is a somewhat obscure one, so I'll give you a hint right off the bat: there are two different movies with this title (both based on the same book).
I wonder if it's by the author whose Thin Man movies are playing on TCM at this very moment. They started at 8PM and will conclude at 4 or 5AM. I'm recording them so I can get clips of "Asta". Of course, I like Nick and Nora, too.
The Glass Bottom Boat (Doris Day) + Key Largo (Humphrey Bogart)
The author of this book has a tie-in with one of today's birthday celebrities:
Gregory Peck (3) + Alan Ladd (2) + Cher (1)
Well, the tie-in's birthday has come and gone and I'm not going to mask my disappointment that no one has answered. But, of course, I do understand that you all have more pressing matters to attend to.
And what about you, Miss Raggedy? What have you been up to?
Just dropping a wee hint, Mac
HINT:

and enjoying life. How about you? Any good movies lately?
The Man in the Gray Flannel Suit (Peck) + The Iron Mistress (Ladd) + Mask (Cher)
But I'm confused: I thought The Man in the Iron Mask was written by Dumas pere (whose birthday, according to my encyclopedia, was July 24), and you posted this on July 27, which my encyclopedia shows was the birthday of Dumas fils.
And you are absolutely correct -- and I knew that, Bree.
But, I thought the tie-in to Dumas fils (as it was his birthday when I posted) would help guide you to the book/movie. I'm sorry that my (not so helpful) tie-in was misleading.
My mistake -- had I read your perfectly clear posts more carefully, I would have seen that the birthday boy was a tie-in to the author, not the author himself!
We've had 40 books into movies so far.
And here comes number 41.
New question:
(The) Roger Moore (1) + Claudette Colbert (1)
The only answer I've been able to come up with is Mary Webb's:
(The) One Wild Oath (Roger Moore) + The Secret Heart (Claudette Colbert)
and I've got a feeling that's not what you have in mind.
Not The Wild Heart. Not many people have seen this movie, which was buried by the critics. I was a bit too young to see it when it was first released, but I would have loved to see this one, because the author of the book the movie is based on is one of my favorite writers - I revisit his works frequently.
"buried" by the critics.
The Spy Who
Loved Me (Moore) + It Happened
One Night (Colbert) (Evelyn Waugh)
I've never seen this one, but remember a friend telling me he loved it. I've seen it listed in the TV Guide, but it's not on any of the cable channels this month.
