Me too, wandeljw. I watched part of Poseidon Adventure the other day, and it was great to see him.
I apologize, Wandeljw. I didn't see That Darn Cat there.
Bree got the others. (The half animal was"Bullwhip Griffin".)
I loved Roddy in "How Green Was My Valley", one of my favorite movies.
Bree got the others.
Just wanted to say Hello! to all you folks up where it's cold.
Hi, mac! Are you saying it isn't cold where you are? It actually seems pretty pleasant here today (by comparison to the last couple of days, anyway), mainly because the sun is out and the wind has died down.
I'm way busy at work, so if anyone else wants to ask the next question, please go ahead. By all rights it should be wandeljw's turn anyway, since he correctly identified Roddy McDowall and most of the movies in the last round.
Today it's not too pleasant - upper 50s and drizzling.
But we had sunny and 60s Monday & Tuesday, and they're predicting the same on Thursday & Friday...
Brief trivia question (no particular format):
Debra Winger and Jeff Goldblum both became box office stars in the 1980's. What movie did they appear in together during the seventies when both were "unknowns"?
Is everyone okay? Yesterday was unusual. I usually see at least one post from raggedyaggie.
I even have a clue for my question: the movie actually won an academy award.
wandeljw, are you referring to Terms of Endearment? It was actually '83. And I knew who both of them were by then, so I figured you were looking for something more obscure...
Yes, where is Raggedy?
I think the answer to wandeljw's question is Thank God It's Friday, which won an Oscar for best song ("Last Dance").
Aha! I read that post as Jeff Daniels, instead of Jeff Goldblum! I believe you are correct, bree.
How odd -- I read it that way too, at first!
Bree is correct. "Thank God It's Friday" also has the distinction of possibly being the worst film to ever win an academy award.
(Should we be worried about raggedy?)
I'm here, Bree.
Wandeljw: No need to worry about Raggedy, but she thanks you for your concern. Lots of bugs flying around here in PA., so I decided to join the crowd and catch one, too. I hope to be feeling better tomorrow so I can come out and play, too.
P.S.: It looks like Bree owes us one now.
I'm sorry to hear you caught one of those nasty bugs, Raggedy, but glad you felt well enough to make an appearance on A2K tonight. Those bugs are flying around NYC, too -- my boss has been out sick all week.
I'll try to come up with a new question later tonight or tomorrow.
Yay! Raggedy's better!
I'm sorry about the nasty bug, and glad that you've conquered it.
This is kind of lame, but it's the best I can come up with at the moment, and I did promise you a question this morning.
This actor appeared in five movies whose titles included one of these words: "town", "city", or "state".
HAH! If that's what you call a "lame" question, you'd better keep your "tough" ones to yourself.
Off to the drawing board.
Spencer Tracy?
Big City
Boys Town
Men of Boys town
Boom Town
State of the Union
How funny! I just finished looking at Mickey Rooney. He only has four, but two are the Boys Town movies.

I checked Mickey Rooney first.
