Oh darn! That eliminates the two peasants I had lined up. And one of them restored art, too. Back to pondering.

A Peasant who makes good
Fictional Writer
Paint Restorer
Camp Director

Clue: Oh, and yes, it's art restoration but in old haunts...

The camp director will no doubt be looking for a new profession after the show."

I did have Sigourney Weaver in mind. But couldn't think of peasant or writer.

Camp Director - Holes
Paint restorer - Ghostbusters II

And then I keep going back to Donald Sutherland who in "Don't Look Now" was an art restorer, and he was a peasant in Start the Revolution Without Me, but now you lead me to believe the Camp director was in a "scary" movie, and nothingSutherland was in fits that bill.

However, that's two more guesses. One more and we get another clue.

Aggie, we were separated at birth! I'm so happy someone else knows Start the Revolution Without Me. I think Louis coming into the party dressed in an 18th century chicken suit is one of the funniest moments I've ever seen; and all the note passing around the room during the dance?!

Billie Whitelaw, a favorite, is hilarious as the insatiable Marie Antoinette, and Wilder and Sutherland as twins...stop...now I gotta get it from Netflix!

OK, I'll chime in with another off-the-wall guess to get us a clue (although my best guess, before Raggedy pre-empted it, was going to be Donald Sutherland):

Colin Firth was restoring a mural in an English country church in A Month in the Country

Laughing But if that were the case (separated by birth) I'd never be as stingy with my clues as you are. "Sneaky" (as Bree said), yes, but "stingy", no. Laughing

"Sneaky" and "stingy" -- weren't they two of Snow White's seven dwarves?

ok, time for a new clue. I am patting myself on the back for stumping the most ingenious and speedy members here in the happiness hut!

ehhh, the peasant makes good, flops and then makes good again-although not getting the credit. It's an olde timey story, really will slay you!

Oh my gosh. Wasn't Sigourney Weaver in some horror movie about Snow White and those guys? Aaah, but when I guessed Sigourney, Loislane said I was "so far away".

Whooaaa there fillies!
I said SO NEAR and yet so far. Very near.
And it wasn't really a horror film, nevertheless, the camp director couldn't last after the show!

Yea, Sneaky and Stingy and whiney, shy-y, annoying, obnoxious, duh and fido. Oh, is that 8? oops.

It doesn't look like Dennis Quaid from Dragonheart fits the bill.

And I've been thinking about the movie "Haunting", but no luck there.

Wow, I knew this actor was obscure; I'd have said his days were numbered, but he has a new lease on life maybe, on TV.

loislane,

your clues are way too subtle for me. however, i would like to add that "Start tne Revolution Without Me" is easily one of the top ten funniest films of all time. i am sure it inspired later spoofs such as "Airplane".

Ahh, wandeljy--more like-minded folk! It is really such an insane film! Gene Wilder is so demented and Donald Sutherland is just divine. Even our narrator, Orson Wells is great!

Wow, I just IMDB'ed it and found it was a Bud Yorkin directed film. Bud, hardly a household name, was, ne'ertheless, director of the Evening with Fred Astaire tv series, a lot of All in the Family, and Divorce American Style.
Anyway, I think it's really a fun film.

OK--Aggie, you were close when you said Dragonheart, close in title. You were close when you said Sigorney as a restorer, close in title!

Well, maybe it's Peter MacNicol.

He was the Wizards' apprentice in Dragonslayer.
And - he was an art restorer in Ghostbusters II, which I didn't discover until just now. (lol)

Oh, I think he was a writer in Sophie's Choice.

But, I still have no ideas about Camp Director.

Oooo, you've got it! Think the Happiness Hut! I forgot he was in this until I IMdb'ed him!

The Thanksgiving pagaent they staged at Camp was completely great! Finally, the quirky kids get their own!

Shall I just give it to you?

Ta--dahhhh! Sorry, tried to get to Ghostbusters 2 with haunting and close to Sigorney.

Peter MacNichol just got a new role as a friend to the math genius on Numb3rs, the new detective show. He's a way under the radar kinda guy!

I had totally forgotten that he was in Addams Family Values--the only scenes I remember from it were the scenes where theyput Thursday in the Happiness Hut with re-runs of some happy teen show, and when she and the other camp nerds get their revenge and destroy the Thanksgiving pagaent by telling the true side of the diseased blankers and all, torching the whole set!

whew! I'd say Aggie, you got the key info, with bree cleaning up to bring you home. Looks like one of the two of you are batter up!
