Greetings from California! It's on the tip of my tongue, also, but I can't come up with the title.

Peyton Place?

I thought so -- had Lana's image in my mind (at least, I think she was the mom in question!) I confess, I stuck my tongue out in the mirror and read the answer in reverse! Good think it didn't say RUDRUM!

A young boy is being intereviewed by a social psychologist. He is remarkably glib and evasive at the same time.

Without that clue I'd never have guessed it, LW.

Oldie

It's difficult to stump me on Hitchcock films but I'm sure there's a scene in one of the lesser works that I would have trouble remembering.

It is the afternoon of a summer's day. A twenty-five-year-old brunette comes out from the entrance of a stately building and walks along a pathway that leads up to a dirt road. She is in a great hurry and becomes a little annoyed and surprised at seeing her father, a meticulously dressed and elderly gentleman, standing near the curb busily talking to his chauffeur in front of a black British car.
