Yes, Gene Kelly, and I was hoping for another "wind" book on that other thread (I forgot about it when I posted) so I could post Inherit the Wind. Kelly's role was a take-off on H.L. Mencken. The Baltimore Sun put up the money to pay Clarence Darrow's legal fee in the Scopes Trial.
Your wish is my command (check out the book title thread).
Our next actor has played:
Fictional actor
Fictional movie director
Sailor
Teacher
I'll be dreaming about sailors tonight. (lol) Right now, I have no clue.
Yes, thanks for telling us about After the Ball (and the Scorsese sighting!)
I stage-managed a production of Master Class with Kathleen Widdoes as Maria Callas in 1997. She is best known for some very long-lived role on a soap - we had lots of fans of the soap coming to the theater for the first time. Kathleen was lovely to work with - I remember her fondly.
Oh, lord, I just listened to the weather report, and they're calling for the temperature to drop into the 20's by Tuesday. I really hate cold weather -- this is definitely not my favorite time of the year!
Sweet dreams of sailors, Raggedy. I'll be back tomorrow (probably late in the day) to see how you're doing on this question.
I hate the cold, too, Bree, but even more than the cold, I detest snow and ice because it confines me. However, you have my sympathy, If it gets too bad here, I can stay home.
Just as I was starting up the stairs, I had a revelation. A tall blond man in a flowing white robe and I said "It couldn't be, could it?"
Peter O'Toole
Actor - My Favorite Year
Movie Director - The Stunt Man
Sailor - Lord Jim
Teacher - Goodbye, Mr. Chips
Your revelation was indeed correct: Peter O'Toole is the man. I couldn't use Lion in Winter, because I knew you had just watched (or, at any rate, taped) it, and I didn't want to make it too easy for you!
Just deleted a long-winded post about Kennedy Center Honor taping . I got carried away with emotion. (lol)
Teacher brought O'Toole to mind and then Stuntman and then My Favorite Year, both of which I enjoyed. - after I saw the man in the white robe on the staircase.
Mac: You have to tell us the names of some of the actors you've worked with and some of the plays and musicals you've been involved in. (I remember one that you really liked.)
New Question:
Real-life revolutionary
Doctor
Emperor's son
Husband of real-life entertainer
Gee, I'm sorry I missed that deleted post (but isn't it nice A2K gives us the option?)!
Thinking about your question...
I'm thinking about it too. (How many emperor's sons have there been? Can't have been that many...)
In answer to your request, Raggedy, I was lucky to work with a lot of great actors, most of whom are not famous, and a few who are.
It's always fun to see someone I worked with years ago with a featured role in some movie I'm watching. I rented The Terminal and there was an actor in it who I see now and then on TV and commercials, but now he's had a big part in a Spielberg film, and isn't that nice for him?
Which one are you thinking of that I liked?

Omar Sharif (Che, Doctor Zhivago, Taras Bulba, Funny Girl)

Welcome to the game, wandeljw . Yes to Omar Sharif and you got every movie, too.
Do you have a question for us?
My favorite trivia involves people you would never expect to see in the same movie.
Name the film where Sean Connery did a scene with Margaret Hamilton.
Good question. I think it's the Anderson Tapes.
Raggedyaggie,
"Anderson Tapes" is correct. I am surprised anyone could get it so quickly.
 Don't be surprised. Ask another one in the same vein.
Wandeljw - I said "don't be surprised" because I used the net to find the answer to your question.
In the meantime, which actor played:
Fictional Poet
Fictional author
British Army Colonel
Coal miner
Thanks for the second chance. Here are three. (The first is a classic in this category of trivia.)
Joan Crawford and The Three Stooges
Charles Bronson and Arthur Godfrey
Bruce Lee and Carroll O'Connor
Name each movie.

Yes to Connery.

Thinking about your questions.
