Strangely, that was the one that gave it to me! I guess it sticks in my mind because it was such an odd role for Bogey to play.

Thinking...

I'm thinking. I have an actor in mind - an actor I was going to ask next. Actually, I had better stop thinking about him because I'm in a rut. I can't think of a movie in which he played an artist.

He was a real-life artist, if that's any help.

Looks like the image didn't take, but I know who you mean -- yes to Ed Harris! Was he the actor you were originally thinking of?

My computer must be acting up -- I just noticed I'm not only getting the image of Ed Harris, I'm also not getting the image of Bogart that I posted earlier.

Anyway, take it away!

Oh, must be your computer. No, he's not the one I was going to ask. I was going to ask:

And you are both correct, but Bree was first. Very Happy

And now, I'm not sure about the "TV producer", because although I read this in Ebert's review:

A story for 60 Minutes compiled by correspondent Mike Wallace (played in the film by Christopher Plummer) and producer Lowell Bergman (Al Pacino) was killed when a potential lawsuit by tobacco giant Brown & Williamson threatened a buyout of CBS that would make a number of high-placed corporate executives very rich.

the IMDB summary reads:

Pacino plays the 60 Minutes reporter. However, the summary goes on to say:

Balls-out "60 Minutes" producer Lowell Bergman sniffs a story when a former research biologist for Brown & Williamson, Jeff Wigand, won't talk to him.

(Pacino played Lowell Bergman. )

Confused

Well, I saw The Insider, and I can't remember whether the character Pacino played was a producer or a reporter! I think "producer" was probably the right description, though -- the movie just slipped my mind.

willow, take the next one if you want -- I'm about to leave the office for my piano lesson, and I don't know when I'll be back online.

After much thought, I can come up with three movies for Judd Hirsch, but I can't find one in which he was a boxing promoter.

University professor - A Beautiful Mind
Political activist - Running on Empty
Psychiatrist - Ordinary People

Am I anywhere close?

So she did -- but is there a difference between "prizefighter's manager" (your clue) and "boxing promoter" (willow's)? Darned if I know.
