OK. A "little" work is quite acceptable.

General (twice)
Prince (twice)
Song and Dance Man
Police Constable

Laurence Olivier (another actor I almost always enjoyed looking at!)

General - The Devil's Disciple and Inchon

Prince - Hamlet, and The Prince and the Showgirl

Song and dance man - The Entertainer (the giveaway)

Police constable - The Magic Box (I had to look on imdb to find this one; have you ever seen it?)

I'll be out this evening, but I'll try to come back with a new question over the weekend (assuming I'm right about Sir Larry, that is!).

None other than Sir Larry. Very Happy Of course, I would have liked Heathcliff to have been included, but he never did a day's work - just looked fabulous. Have I mentioned before that Wuthering Heights is my favorite movie? (lol)

I didn't see the Magic Box and am now curious having just read on IMDb that it is about a real-life film maker. While I was copying a bio of Olivier, a scene from that movie was shown at the beginning of several segments. Olivier had a big black mustache and wore a silly looking helmet. (lol)

I said I'd post a new question over the weekend, and I think I can just get one in under the wire!

This actor was:

Real-life actor
Revolutionary
College professor
Spy

I'm about to log off for the night, but I'll check back tomorrow morning.

The Revolutionary is giving me a hard time. My first thought was:

Richard Burton

Real-life actor - Prince of Players
College Profesor - Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
Spy - The Spy Who Came in from the Cold
and for "revolutionary" , maybe the Comedians, as he did join the rebels near the end of the film.

Richard Burton is correct, and so are the first three movies you named. I thought "revolutionary" might be the tricky one. I was thinking of The Assassination of Trotsky.

Oh my gosh. I never thought of that one. Good one.

How about:

Accountant
Makeup/beauty consultant
College professor
Broadway playwright

Since I'm leaving for class in a few minutes and won't be back until this evening, I thought a hint might be in order.

Dr. - five times (one evil; one, not too legal ) and Doc once, but not a noteworthy role like Come Back Little Sheba or Gunfight at the OK Corral) Very Happy

Thanks -- I've been thinking about this since this morning, and at this point I'll take any hint I can get! I'm so stumped, I was about to ask if the fact that you didn't mention this person's gender meant that we were looking for an actress, not an actor.

Michael Caine

Accountant - Hannah and Her Sisters (I had completely forgotten what his occupation was in this one!)
Makeup/beauty consultant - Miss Congeniality
College professor - Educating Rita
Broadway playwright - Deathtrap
Doctor - Ashanti, Dressed to Kill, Jekyll & Hyde (his evil doctor role), The Cider House Rules (the not exactly legal one?), and Quills
Doc - Silver Bears

They're all correct, Bree. I didn't mean for you to name the doctors. I thought "not too legal" would lead you to Cider House Rules as the procedures he performed were "illegal".

It wasn't Cider House Rules that gave it to me, although that was a good clue. I'm actually not sure what finally gave it to me, but whatever it was, I was glad it worked!

I'll ponder my next question overnight (I can ponder while sleeping), and try to post it tomorrow.

How was your class?

My class? I learned that at the moment I am in La Salle A Manger and that I will soon be going to La Cambre A Coucher, and since everything is taught phonetically, and we're not permitted to take notes, I'm not sure that I'm spelling anything correctly. Oh, I'm wearing un bag and I carry a sac a mon. And "il est dix heures trente" (my clock's 4 minutes slow). Laughing Confused
