They must change the lyrics each time Flower Drum Song is revived. I note they substituted "Bobby Darin, Sandra Dee" for the original cast lyrics, "Harry Truman, Truman Capote" and Dewey.

Living here is very much like chop suey.

Hula hoops and nuclear war,
Doctor Salk and Zsa Zsa Gabor,
Bobby Darin, Sandra Dee, and Dewey,
Chop suey, --Chop suey!--

Stars are drifting overhead,
Birds and worms have gone to bed.
Men work late in laboratories,
Others read detective stories.

Some are roaming 'round the country,
Others sit beneath just one tree.
Tonight on TV's Late, Late Show
You can look at Clara Bow! --Who?--

Chop suey, chop suey!
Good and bad, intelligent, mad, and screwy.
Violins and trumpets and drums,
Take it all the way that it comes,
Sad and funny, sour and honey dewy,
Chop suey!

Ballpoint pens and filter tips,
Lipsticks and potato chips.
In the dampest kind of heat wave
You can give your hair a neat wave.

Hear that lovely La Paloma,
Lullaby by Perry Como.
Dreaming in my Maidenform bra,
Dreamed I danced the Cha-Cha-Cha.

Chop suey, chop suey!
Mixed with all the hokum and bally hooey.
Something real and glowing grand.
Sheds a light all over the land.

Boston, Austin, Wichita, and St. Louey,
Chop suey.

(Just felt like singing. Very Happy )

Anybody have a question?

This is a little obscure, but if it's wrong, maybe it'll get me a hint:

Oops, I just noticed you said inbetweener, so it can't be Sitting Pretty! Oh well, maybe it'll get me a hint anyway (she said hopefully).

Hair - Walking in Space and The Age of Aquarius

My favorite song from Hair is "Frank Mills", but I don't know how you'd paraphrase that one!

I just discovered that Frank Mills isn't on the movie soundtrack, Bree. I saw Hair in 1970, I think. Theater was packed.

I knew there was a reason why the movie version of Hair failed! How could they leave out Frank Mills? It's a great song. I laugh every time I think of the lines, "I love him, but it embarrasses me to walk down the street with him."

I saw Hair in a theater in, I think, 1969. If I'm not mistaken, Diane Keaton was in the cast. I should look for my Playbill -- I know it's here somewhere.

Here's a song from an oldie movie that you'll get right away:

Alcoholic beverage, often consumed at brunch
