Oh, it might be the movie with the name that I can NEVER remember. A two word title. (Trevor Howard). Remade for TV with Richard Burton.

I knew you'd get it, Raggedy! Trevor Howard (who was a tie-in to The Third Man) plays a doctor, and his character and the Celia Johnson character meet when he removes the speck of grit from her eye in the train station.

One of the tearjerkers of all time, Bree, but for some unknown reason, I can never remember the title, Brief Encounter. And it's not as if I've ever had one that I don't wish to remember. Laughing

I apologize, but I must leave now and won't be back until tomorrow evening so the next movie scene is up for grabs. Anyone?

Here's a new scene.

Newbie

While in the music shop with her granddaughter, a man recognizes her and offers to drive her home. She says she'll get a cab and he leaves. When she leaves the shop, a cab pulls up and she and her granddaughter get in. He's behind the wheel. He doesn't charge her cabfare in exchange for a cup of coffee at her home.

I don't think I saw this one, but I'll make three wild guesses to get a clue:

Moonstruck
Sweet Lorraine
Unhook the Stars

Good Morning!

Not:

Moonstruck
Sweet Lorraine
Unhook the Stars

Clue 1-
She spends a night at a hotel with him, but on their next dinner date she tells him their relationship is over. He's the complete opposite of her deceased husband. But later, she has a change of heart and pays him a visit. He's in his bathrobe when he opens the door. She asks him to invite her in. He looks embarrassed, and then she sees a woman in his room.

Good morning to you! Are you getting any snow there? It's coming down pretty hard here, and I am not happy about how long this winter is lasting!

This movie still isn't ringing any bells for me, but I'll make a couple more wild guesses to keep things moving until maybe someone who has actually seen the movie shows up:

Terms of Endearment
Evening Star

We have a light coating of snow on the ground from last night. Now a rain/sleet mix. It's a MISERABLE day. But, I don't have to go out ,so I shan't complain any more.
Are you leaving for England tomorrow, Bree?

Not:
Terms of Endearment
Evening Star

(Think "widows")

Good Morning Fealola. Sorry, I didn't see your post.

Not:
Never Again

Clue 3:

Three widows are invited to be bridesmaids at a friend's 5th or 6th (not sure) wedding.

The Cemetery Club?

Yes, I leave for England tomorrow night. With any luck, the weather should be better by then.

Bree, the weatherman here just said that things will look better tomorrow and where you are, too. Very Happy (I'm looking forward to hearing all about your trip. )

Yes to Cemetery Club. (filmed in my hometown)

So which one of the widows was it who had the fling with the cab driver in The Cemetery Club?

Don't worry, you'll hear more about my trip than you could possibly want to know when I get back next week!

New scene:

Newbie
When a husband goes backstage to greet his wife after her performance in the chorus of the community opera, he sees something he wishes he hadn't seen.

Oh good! Very Happy

I don't recall the scene in question, but here are some guesses:

Topsy-turvy?
An Awfully Big Adventure?
Illuminata?

Ellen Burstyn has a fling with Danny Aiello, with promises to come. Although she tells him she doesn't want to get married (she's going to manage her dead husband's music shop and likes her independence), they tango out of the shop into the street at the end of the movie. Laughing

(Weather is clearing here. )

I don't know your scene, but I'm thinking about it.
