Just out of curiosity, why did you leave India to go to Germany?

My Indian name is Rama.
My German name is Herr Fuchs
I came here not to enjoy my life.
My wife is an intellectual like all.
we were PEN FRIENDS.
in those days there were no Nokia or any other plastic luxury with credidt card.
I am immensely happy with my personal life.
I will die as a diehard Communist..

I'm glad you're immensely happy with your personal life. Even though you didn't come to Germany to enjoy your life.

But, can ask you again: As a diehard Communist and as somebody who loves Cuba that much - why do you live in Germany rather than in Cuba?

After all, Germany is not really a communist country. It resembles America more than Cuba.

I am in Germany because of my wife.
Kar marx is a GERMAN JEW who like MLK had made an impact around the world.
A2K is a platform to give opportunity to learn from others and not a podium to belittle the participants..
Any more Q sir?

Understood. So again, given the chance, wouldn't you rather want to live in Cuba than in Germany? Have you thought about moving? If you're really a diehard Communist, isn't Germany a tad too capitalistic for your ideology?

I understand that.

I don't understand the reference. Are you saying that Germany is good because Karl Marx was a German?

Hey, I'm really trying to learn here. That's why I'm asking all those questions.

On another thread I referred Rama to this well-known American poem --- It may be aprapos...

Miniver Cheevy, child of scorn,
Grew lean while he assailed the seasons
He wept that he was ever born,
And he had reasons.

Miniver loved the days of old
When swords were bright and steeds were prancing;
The vision of a warrior bold
Would send him dancing.

Miniver sighed for what was not,
And dreamed, and rested from his labors;
He dreamed of Thebes and Camelot,
And Priam's neighbors.

Miniver mourned the ripe renown
That made so many a name so fragrant;
He mourned Romance, now on the town,
And Art, a vagrant.

Miniver loved the Medici,
Albeit he had never seen one;
He would have sinned incessantly
Could he have been one.

Miniver cursed the commonplace
And eyed a khaki suit with loathing:
He missed the medieval grace
Of iron clothing.

Miniver scorned the gold he sought,
But sore annoyed was he without it;
Miniver thought, and thought, and thought,
And thought about it.

Miniver Cheevy, born too late,
Scratched his head and kept on thinking;
Miniver coughed, and called it fate,
And kept on drinking.

george
thanks for your quote.

The subject of this thread is about Cuba's election.
Cuba is a country which survive the attack of the corporate controlled neighbour= USA.
Most of the people around the globe knows that USA is not a power to shake the views of others and shape the world as a replica of USA.

USA had a bollywood or holy halywood drama now.
When two contestants face the final result then i am cock sure not more than 30 percent of the American voters had selected a RESIDENT:
Any disagreement?

Just another question. On a different thread, you wrote this:

Do you still feel that way?

Yes.
But for my wife i would have sheltered elsewhere.
Take care of MLK's Dream and forget about this mythical unfulfilled AMERICAN DREAM.
And don't forget to peruse the indian conservative Times of india about the death of one student yesterday.
Three in one month.

I see. But you are convinced that living in a communist country would be better than living in Germany or in the United States. Are you saying that your wife would not like to live in a communist country? Couldn't you convince her to move to Cuba?

Well, you're saying that you're living in a country that you don't like. You're a diehard Communist, a Marxist, but you're living in a capitalistic country. In what way would you say you are not a helpless consumer?

we both are two differnt poles.

My wife is a decent christian who appreciate my views( hindu born athiest)
Let me not misuse this to project my life or my inadequacies.
I bet old Europe that in the final round (between 2 approved conntestans with the same old game)
the patriotic consumers will sit in the living room and munch their frenchfry. I mean half of the eligible voters will spend their time elsewhere and not make use of their legitimate rights.

Kindly peruse the statistics of American election.
Bush was legitimized with 30 percent of the Americans who had crossed the street to vote.

Whereas in the marxist paradise of Cuba, everyone votes - unfortunately there is only ONE candidate for each post, so their dutiful "democratic' voting is, at best, an Orwellian charade.

Does not matter sir.
The world knows that there was one country which struggled to sort out the callous unethical election in 2000 and an appointed judge had acclaimed a guy who had exposed the real USA

Voter turnout seems to be lower than in Cuba. But they seem to be able to choose between several candidates.

Do you think it's better if there's only one candidate, but voter turnout is higher?

Sorry sir
I have many friends and kith and kins in USA.
Once in a while I used to seek their opinion about the state of affairs there.
But I used to read all the views around the globe.
And I form my own views.
My wife used to keep aloof of politics.And she has high regard and respect for my straightforward blunt communist views.
I have no problem with any system.
And American system is not a nice system.
It is my views based on two cultures.

Perhaps you should go to Cuba while there is still time. The other "Communist" countries of the world have been eagerly abandoning the old system as fast as possible. Even China and Vietnam are rapidly embracing capitalism, preserving only the old authoritarian power structure - and even that is showing signs of crumbling.
