Unreal. These are amatures....imagine what professionals can do to the models we see everyday. No wonder our perception of beauty is so distorted.

Body Makeover (naked butt...nothing bad but don't open at work.)

Yeah, the fat to skinny girl is a little funny looking but you get the point.

You can take a size 6 and make her a size 2 with no trouble at all. So normal women are easily turned into waif super models.

Honey, you wouldn't BELIEVE the years and poundage I've shaved off in Photoshop. Laughing

I work in the beauty industry as an art director and will be the first to admit the amount of retouching and enhancing done by our superb team but I do insist that we stay away from "cosmetic surgery". We don't thin or enlarge any features. No shaving down jawlines and chins. We do erase wrinkles and smooth out skintone, customary retouching for print, but sometimes my partners go too far, blow the models out so much that they look two-dimensional, like a painting. I insist that they go back and find where they crossed the line and when they find that point, that's the finished piece.

The hope is that no one is looking at magazines and seeking to be as flawless as the models and actors and entertainers, etc. they see. There is no such thing as an unretouched photograph. Absolutely none. Everyone should know that by now. Rolling Eyes

Well, adults often do.
(not all)

But look at the number of teenage girls striving to be a size 2 and you will see that far too many girls believe what the see in their Cosmo or Seventeen magazines and think that they need to be perfect to be beautiful. And while logically they might know that those pictures aren't real, the pressure to be perfect overrides the logical part of their brain.
