I 've fired .44 magnum revolvers, and .50 caliber machineguns,
but not a .50 caliber handgun.

I 've heard that .50 caliber is triple the power of .44 magnum.
That round looks softpointed.
Is that a .50 magnum ?

I wonder whether Dys still believes this ?

@Intrepid,
You must be pretty brainwashed by your government to be so naive to think that this is such a safe good natured world where there is no reason to be afraid... Where the **** do you even live??? do you even know what its like to live in a place where violent crimes are high?? You might be good natured at heart and not think evil things but there are MANY MANY people out there that want to eat your insides out while ******* a stab wound they just made into your lifeless kidneys... and these NUTS dont need guns to do it... ESPECIALLY WHEN THE GOVERNMENT HAS DISARMED EVERYONE!!! To top it off the bad guys are always going to get guns.... because the bad guys are running the black market which will never cease to exist... now the good guys are disarmed and they cant even arm themselves because they are good and don't go to the black market (because that would make them bad guys). So now bad guys are armed and good guys are left waiting for little bitch cops to come and stand outside with a loud speaker while your getting STABBED to death by a bad guy who even if you were able to fend off his knife he would just pull out his gun and shoot you... Now if EVERYONE was forced into mandatory gun safety and defense classes from early age and taught to respect guns instead of glorifying their killing potential in action movies.. then we could have a society of good people armed.... sounds dangerous right? Well think about it?? would you try to rob a store if you knew everyone inside had a gun? would you do a B&E if you knew that you were extremely likely to get shot down? I know for one I would never **** with anyone. I feel mandatory arms could put the bad guys in check mate... because there is WAY more people that do not want to hurt anyone... it would make some of the more urgent work of the police given as a responsibility to the people... because wouldn't you rather use a gun and be a cop for a few seconds than be a victim that gets butchered? granted this does not happen a lot in most places, however it does happen and more frequently in more violent places and times (such as disasters where order is lost like hurricanes). If everyone was armed and taught right it would give more power to the innocent civilian people in times of distress and disorderly conduct. One might be prone to think "well what if people fly off the handle" but they would have to have a death wish to fly off the handle, their self preservation insticts would stop them. if they dont havew that then they are truly a dangerous person and might need to be killed because if they dont try something with a gun why not use their fists? a knife? bat? rock..... potato gun?.. pvc tube??? I like the occasional chair. At least now the innocents have an instant way to stop the insane. Its the ultimate deterrence and the best first first response. Granted it will not always work, the bad guy might still win the fight, but at least it levels the playing field... NOW people diagnosed with violent behavior problems or mental illnesses or violent criminals can be disarmed swaying the balance of power to the non violent innocent people.... NOW HERE IS SOMETHING I MUST MENTION... this would take a major shift in our culture to work perfectly one where much more respect is taught at a young age. Where kids are taught civil military skills at a young age and also taught to have much more self control similar education to that of a military soldier but instead of emphasizing killing it would be more based on maintaining peace in hostile situations and living as a civilian with the ability to take martial power for defense if need be. like that of a shaolin monk. Military but not a violent offensive stance like most militarys today. No "kill the enemy" but more "protect the innocent and maintain order in your surroundings". It would be something people could be proud of and it would maintain public safety. Not that unlike the past centuries in China. I mean if we are forced to learn math we will never use why shouldn't we be forced to learn something that we may need to use to save our or someone we may or even may not loves life? If this was 900 years ago martial arts would be enough but in this day and age the barrel has trumped all other forms of defense.... We live in a very dangerous and blood thirsty cannibalistic world don't ever forget that just because the sky is bright and blue... My idea would make a violent crime much much more 'ballsy' to commit. It would be like trying to kill everyone on your own military base all by yourself... robbing a store would not be worth it... beating your wife might get you shot so you better be ready to kill her if you even lay a finger on her... most guys are not.... rape? not a good idea unless you drug her and no one finds out..

@OmSigDAVID,
That is natural selection at its best. The gene pool will rid itself of those who don't' have the will for self preservation.

Sorry about that I'm new to the forums and still trying to figure out how it's all setup.

@Intrepid,
Who is your definition of a nut? I grew up with guns, began shooting around 12 and over the years went through three dozen weapons for trade or purchase and still have about 13 of them. I raised my kids around shooting starting in their pre teens teaching them what guns do and how to handle them right. Never did we have an incident, killing or accidental shooting. Am I what you consider a nut with a gun? Or would that be a criminal who wants to hurt people who is the nut? I hope you can tell the difference.

@Intrepid,
That interesting. Well, I guess that makes me dangerous. I've carried for my entire adult life, in every building I've been in, without a second thought about it. I never hurt anyone and never had an accident. Please tell me how that makes me dangerous? I consider some unarmed scum and vermin walking into a bar and getting soused then going out on the road with no gun in his car and a brain loaded with booze to be dangerous, and a building that has a sign saying NO GUNS ALLOWED and is so absolutely stupid beyond belief as to think that will stop a criminal to be dangerous. The danger is in the motivation. I carry a gun and am not dangerous in the least, and my friends who carry are not dangerous either. If you knew I was next to you armed, you would run screaming and I would think you were an idiot, which you would indeed. be. Dont try to rob or kill me and you wont get hurt. end of story. I'm not the danger, the losers who ignored the signs in Columbine were.

@genefog2,
How come you need to justify yourself, replying to a comment a poster made more than five years ago?

Gun owners are not gun nuts. Criminals are the nuts. I wonder if you can tell the difference.
