I did see a photo (CNN?), and I'll unfairly say that Clemens looked like a packaged priss and McNamee seemed to be about to bite his nails. That comment may misrepresent both of them, was just a first glance followed by character assassination in my mind.

My wife used it.
My teammates used it.
My trainer said I used it.

...but I didn't use it.

They may make you big, but apparently steroids don't help you tell a better lie...

That's 'cause the baseball muscles all crowd out the lie muscle.

-- I am still waiting for what may turn out to be a tie to organized crime. After all, somehow this stuff ended up in the US. How? Who manufactured it? Who distributed it? Who sold it? This thing stinks in a lot of ways and this is just the beginning.

Not to mention the gambling angle. I'd imagine a jacked up 45 year old Clemens gets a few more bets thrown his way then just a plain old 45 year old clemens.

Yes, but the steroid users and catchers only report for the first couple of days.

That's because his steroid arms can throw the ball soooooo far, it takes them the rest of the week to find it.

I highly doubt that it has anything to do with Vegas, or gamblers....it's more the ballplayer doing it to enhance his own performance.

As far as where it comes from, well, it's the WAR...ON...DRUGS!!!!

You would think the government would be more concerned with that, vs. wasting all this time & money going after Roger f'n Clemens. Should anybody really care whether or not he took HGH, steroids, B12, ect.?

Historic events are being played about right now.

On a similar note, here's a vid of sportscaster Chris Berman discussing why he likes to cover Blue Jays games (of course, he didn't realize this vid was being recorded).

I hope you can see this vid alright. ESPN has apparently tried to yank them off of youtube.

deux, deux, deux!

He didn't try to dress it up, excuse it or blame it on anyone else. He stood up like a man and admitted what he'd done.

Source: Roger Clemens to be indicted

Roger Clemens will be indicted on charges of making false statements to Congress about his use of performance-enhancing drugs, a source familiar with the government's investigation has told ESPN's T.J. Quinn.

The source said the indictment was expected later Thursday. The New York Times first reported the indictment, citing two sources briefed on the case.

Clemens and his former trainer, Brian McNamee, testified under oath before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform in 2008. McNamee, who cooperated with federal authorities and with baseball's Mitchell report on performance-enhancing drugs in baseball, said Clemens had used steroids, while Clemens flatly denied having ever used them.

A few weeks later, the FBI opened a perjury probe against Clemens, a seven-time Cy Young Award winner. The federal grand jury began hearing testimony more than 18 months ago.

Rusty Hardin, Clemens' lead attorney, said he was unaware of a pending indictment.

"We've heard nothing," Hardin said by telephone from Houston, "so I can't knowledgeably respond at all."

Earl Ward, one of McNamee's lawyers, said he, too, "had no indication something was coming." (ESPN)
