Vivien, good for you and Rosie! I felt absolutely terrible when we took Nisse and Mysan home from the vet's that day. The poor little things. But they also did fine and were not mad at us at all.
Give Rosie a hug from us! Brave little girl!
Aw Viv., I know how you feel. I felt the same when we had Paddy declawed, something I would never do again, because he was not a happy camper. I felt so sorry for him, and was very happy when we realized Lacey would not have that done because she is very gentle and rarely uses her claws except to try to file them.
Paddy was neutered when we adopted him, so was Lacey.
Poor Rosie, she is such a good pal to you, it's obvious you're the most important person in her life, and that's precious:)
I'm here, just reading and loving every minute and every detail. More, please.
Hi Di., lovely to see you here ...... you have any pets besides Dys.?
Delighted to hear Rosie is all mended and her usual self!
Do you think she'll be okay when you leave? Not that your parents wouldn't take the best of care of her, but will she pine?
I sure hope not.
well she would be nervous at my paretns but she is used to visiting them and they adore her.
The journey to the ferry is 5-6 hours, then there is the queuing and boarding time, at least 3 1/2 hours on the ferry, disembarking time and 5+ hours travel in Ireland - that is without counting stops for coffee and meals. I think that is just too much to put her through to take her with us.
I thought we'd stop overnight near the ferry as it goes at an unearthly hour in the morning. Motels may not like a cat - though we could probably smuggle her in! it would all be terribly stressful though.
She's leaping about almost normal today and doesn't worry about being picked up at all - though i am still very very careful.
Oh, Vivien, how nice of you to even CONSIDER taking her on such a trip!
I'm certain she'll be OK with your parents. (I'm also certain that they'd know how much Rosie means to you & will do all the right things.)
Enjoy your holiday!
I'm sure Rosie would love Ireland, though. She could kiss the Blarney Stone!
I'm not so sure Rosie hasn't already kissed the Blarney Stone ... she just has that look in her eyes:)
Welllll!!!
I kissed the Blarney Stone and it didn't work!!!!
I can't remember where the Blarney stone is in Ireland
We will (I hope) be going to Donegal, which is where himself is from. The coast looks beautiful and there are mountains .... and no doubt being Ireland ....LOADS of rain!
I've seen a house by a quay that i fancy if my daughter and her husband are coming with us. She is keen to explore her Irish heritage.
Rosie is doing brilliantly, I'd bought a small wicker basket to keep paperwork in and she'd curled up in it yesterday, so i bought her a bigger one of her own today and she's asleep in it now and seems to love it - spoilt animal!

Er ... What's supposed to happen when you kiss this Blarney Stone? (Pardon my ignorance.)
you get the gift of the gab! you can talk fluently and charmingly .... I think maybe it did work for her!
Nah! Felt right cheated, I did!!!
Perhaps in your case, margo, there was nothing more the stone could do.

Oh, ABSOLUTELY, Vivien! It worked, margo, it worked!!!!
