Sometimes I don't mind the job. I would certinly have to work elsewhere if not here. My mother in law wants me to put a new floor in her bathroom. I can't seem to get the notion to start moving on it. Guess I better make a move soon, like maybe Saturday.

@edgarblythe,
Oh, installing a door. Can't that be a bit of a pain?

Any updates on the craft idea? Still collecting tools, I gather? It will proabably be too late to do anything for this year. Maybe next.

@Reyn,
Install a floor. It requires taking out the toilet, among other unsavory things.

I got a great buy on a saw for miter cuts and the like, and have been making the back shed over into a work place. The hurricane raised the water lvel in there high enough to ruin lots of stuff, so I am putting two or three cans of it out for trash pick up, twice a week.

@edgarblythe,
Hey there you two Very Happy

Ohhhhhh... only get online a for a few minutes at a time as I don't have broadband right now - British Telecom are worse than useless!!!! so dial-up is having to suffice in short spurts. Shouldn't complain - I can still get dial up, it's just it's expensive.

Anyhoooooooooo..... Edgar - how is your wife doing hun? Is she nervous about the surgery. It's so good that you will be there supporting her and helping her - it is sometimes just as hard for the carers as it is for the person going through the surgery, sometimes even harder. With all of my surgeries I am so stubborn and can't abide asking for help - that makes it harder for my parents who I often ban from my house. The little fella helps me a lot when I'm sick - but he's only 11 so there's a kinda guilt thing there for me, not from him, just... you know - he's only 11.

Reyn - how is V doing these days? You said the other day you know it's wearing for her with her problems and she's stoic - and I can completely understand that. Thing is, just by being there for her and the kids and their probs ... well, it does make all the difference. Just knowing someone is there. So good on you mate - keep doing what you do and her journey will be a little less tiring.

It's really chilly here right now - but earlier on, the moon was simply incredible. It's started raining some now - ugh, not so nice when it's damp and grey. Hopefully the sun will shine tomorrow. We have a school play - the children are doing scenes from "OLIVER" - it's going to be fab - they are 4-11yrs old - should be great for all the parents to watch their little kids enjoying themselves and singing and dancing.

Wishing you happy days.

Take care both and catch ya later.

xx

I will be there with my wife through it all. It will be demanding, because she will have just her left hand to use, not to mention times of pain and then it is a two person job to do the rehabilitation. The doc says many perons do not regain full function after that kind of operation. But, she did so well with the first one, that we feel optimistic.

@edgarblythe,
Feeling optimistic for her too Edgar - positive thinking makes the world of difference in the healing process and having the support of loved ones and friends. I know, albeit "virtually", I wouldn't have got thru the last lot of surgery without my friends here on A2K and having people to talk me thru when the pain was bad..... and also to give me a kick up the bahookie when I was doing the self-pity bit. Noddy was a great bahookie kicker when I needed it, as well as being a fabulous positive mental attitude and dominion holding supporter.... along with many others here.

She's lucky to have you Edgar. Be very proud of you. x

@edgarblythe,
Edgar, maybe if you were to put more stuff on shelves and pegs, the water couldn't get at your gear?

Thanks, I'm sure you're right. She's gone through many years of "medical stuff" of one thing or another. She says she's become quite philosophical about it all.

Sorry that your internet problems are still a problem. It must be very annoying. I can hardly remember what dial up was like, since we've been on cable high speed for about 4 years now.

All the best to both of you!

Reyn, the hurricane blew eleven inches of rainwater through every crack and crevace in the shed. Normally, the insides stay dry.

BOYS..... where are you fellas? mmmmmmmmmm..... Edgar - few days to go before surgery - how is MrsEdgar doing? How are you doing?

Hope you've managed to get your bits and pieces done - shopping and such like before she goes into hospital. Is anyone, family, going to be coming to give you a hand at all????

@Izzie,
I'm on a day off today and have been in and out with my wife on various shopping trips, bank, etc.

It's really been cold the last few days and apparently will continue to at least the weekend. It's supposed to snow here late tonight. I hope not, because I have an early shift tomorrow.

Hope you guys are doing okay.

Everything is like the quiet before the storm, Izzie. My eldest daughter works for the doctor who will perform the surgery. She will make herself available when she can and if necessary. I don't mind being there for her. We should manage very well, in my estimation.

@edgarblythe,
Edgar - that's good news about your daughter working for the doc - always good to have someone who can be a second ear and who knows how much help your wife will need. You will do great and hopefully, if we can all posivibe strong enough here for you and your lady - she will recover quickly. (the lead up is the worst... wishing it to be done and start the recovery process is easier than waiting for it to happen).

Posivibes winging their way in time for the 19th. x

Reyn - ahhhhhh... are you about to be hit by the cold snap over there. The US East coast is being hit hard - but I read earlier the West US coast is knocking out the thermometers too. Know you are a ways up - keep WARM, keep safe and travel ...slowly. Hope it doesn't come in bad for you and yours. x

I really like the hospital and the staff's attitude about things. One thing they did the last one didn't even consider, they took a bacterial culture from my wife to determine if she can bring in super germs or contract them.
