it's a fact that fetuses masturbate (presumably as soon as they are able...)

you can blame engrams or television or satan, but my own theory is that it's perfectly natural. society thinks these are rude things, but then it would be a rude god that put them there.

(or it would be evolution, in which case if you do not like it, go back to reproducing through binary fission.)

When I was raising male toddlers, the house rule was "Don't play with your pecker in the living room."

One of my stepsons was still into public self-adoration when he was 10. This evoked some brutal social reaction.

If you are parents, do you think your pre-puberescent child does it when you are not watching? How long can they keep their hands off it?

If you are a male, could you explain how it is with boys?

Every single man posting on this thread has said this is a non issue.

I wanna repeat Its a non issue.

For those referring to a 3 year old as "masturbating" when he puts his own hand on his genitals I think you have a skewed idea of child sexuality.
A boy has a handle. Its a toy. A comforting thing to do, like sucking your thumb and its there for life.

Don't "get after" your son. You could cause problems for him later on. At most a gentle reminder that some people might not like to see this activity ..

Its not dirty or sick or embarrassing unless you put a sexual connotation on this action which is impossible to do with a 3 year old unless your a sicko.
YOU have created a focus on your sons willy by toilet training YOU have attracted attention to this area of his body and know you want to "get after him".

Get on with your life Redpickle. Go give your son a hug and read him a story.

Well redpickle, I wanna hand an olive branch. A wee lad having a toss is little different from a wee lad picking his nose. It doesn't hurt anyone but it does offend. This is purely about manners, not the right and wongs of masturbation ( still waiting for that thread)

Dys, since I do consider anything sexual related as private, I like the
term "private parts" a lot better than tinker or pecker.
And yes, christianity should be private too, then I wouldn't have to listen
to all the religious fanatics. Evil or Very Mad

The whole point is this is a 3 year old there is NOTHING sexual about his penis. Stop trying to fit adult responses onto a 3 year old. His willy is just another part of his body like fingers or toes. it happens to be in a good spot for hands to go too and as I said before toilet training has focused attention sharply on this part of the little boys body.

dadpad, I gave my response to the three year old one already on page 1.
My subsequent posts were directed towards the adult (mainly male) posters here, in case you don't get that. Rolling Eyes

as do females, although they're not at liberty to discuss it. personally i think better they begin to than we cease. if you dislike the topic, you can stop reading it anytime. your opinion on the matter is noted.

I don't know... maybe it's just me,
but there's something going on here that I don't understand...

Why do some people seem upset and defensive?

I'm not seeing the posts that are causing this much uproar.

Let's all go take a time-out.

Frankly I don't get it either, caribou. Well, dadpad tends to read something into other posts that isn't there, wouldn't be the first time, but I have no clue why tinygiraffe is assuming I am upset over such a topic.

tinygiraffe, from where I come from, sexuality is as natural as eating, and
so is masturbation for women and men. My statement to the "boys" was a humorous quote. I guess, one has to have humour to understand humour. In future, I'll be forced to add 10 of these Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

ah, you're right. the problem is i assumed you were serious.

the emotes would help, but i'm sure there's some alternative... i'll tell you though, if you really want to see an interesting misunderstanding, check out the thread where snood gets someone to believe he's a white supremacist Smile

I was raised with it being an issue, if ever even mentioned, shhhhhhh!!!

Obviously, I got over that. But from Squinney's illustrated example, the issue is alive and well with at least one speech-giving doctor, and may have import to some of the audience, one way or another.

Once again we have a situation where men are asked to give an opinion and when they do their opinions are put down.

CJ if you cant make the intent of your posts clear then there is nothing I can do about it. I found nothing humorous about your post. I found it to demeaning. On the whole I dont think you have half a clue what you are talking about, so I'd be very pleased if you would piss off.
