Phony Soldier Syndrome becoming more infectious?

As a result of a debate on the Minimum Wage thread concerning Winter Soldier, I think the Phony Soldier Syndrome deserves a more thorough look.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,301067,00.html

It seems that the malady that John Kerry popularized with the phony Winter Soldier event is not that uncommon and has even infected Tom Harkin and Dan Rather, among many others.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,301067,00.html

I think also that besides phony soldiers, there are phony stories about war atrocities, a prime example being the Winter Soldier event, but there are more recent examples as Private Beauchamp in Iraq.

Here is a good article by Malkin.

Your left's political game is to mis-characterize and marginalize Fox and people like Malkin. I follow Fox and read Malkin frequently. Fox is okay on political issues but they certainly bring in liberal spin as well, and Malkin is good.

Sorry, but some of us don't buy your propaganda. To you, I suppose Al Jazeera is balanced. And Winter Soldier was balanced too I suppose? What a joke.

You should have the honor of debating the facts and the message, not the messenger.

Malkin is 'good?'

She's not even sane, let alone 'good.' Geraldo was right when he called her a weeping sore on the face of humanity.

Go ahead try to change the subject to Malkin. Typical operation, cyclops. The subject is phony soldiers and phony stories. She wrote plenty about it, and if you can prove she is all wrong, have at it. But so far she is far more credible than your take on it, per the conversations about it so far.

Because you know you are all wet about it and have been for a long time. If you are wrong, you aren't interested in the subject.

All wet about what?

I'm sure you are aware that there are as many 'phony soldiers' on the right as there are on the left.

the more you watch the Rupert Murdoch-owned Fox News channel, in particular, the more likely it is that your perceptions about the war are wrong, adds the report by the University of Maryland's Program on International Policy Attitudes (PIPA).

Look at the graphs on page 13

---------------------------------

Anybody who uses FOX news as a source is pushing an agenda and not the truth. Anybody interested in the truth must consider the motives and priorities of those that choose lies over truth. This is a philosophical core, lies or truth?

The proper method of analysis is to verify the message the messenger delivers. If, then, the message appears false, then one can question future messages from the messenger. Eventually to come to the conclusion: "This messenger is generally the bearer of information that turns out to be true/false (pick one)." Therefore the credibility of said messenger is suspect.

However, not all messengers are always correct, nor are they always wrong. To totally disregard a messenger's capacity to present any "truth" on the basis of an ad hominem attack is illogical and indicative of close mindedness.

The true measure of wisdom is not knowing all the answers but, rather, having the courage to look for them, even in the most unlikeliest of places or persons. i.e. "Thinking outside the box."

The true measure of wisdom is knowing that Michelle Malkin is insane and anyone who would waste his or her time reading her propaganda is equally insane.

Is that her holding the sign? If it is, she very likely is not talking about Bush bringing down the towers, but instead about the 911 Commission, which was a whitewash, I would agree with her if that is what it is about.

Note to Halfback, it is very very tough to get leftists on this forum to debate the issues. They attempt to demonize the source and call them idiots or insane, as Roxxi does on a regular basis.

You were all wet about Winter Soldier, which is a prime example of phony soldier syndrome. Now I am glad you admit there are phony soldiers.

And I agree phony people can be of all stripes. The difference in terms of political side of the fence, cyclops, and this is very important, phony stories of atrocities fit the template of leftists that hate this country, and therefore they are guilty of further reporting, expanding, and exaggerating these stories over time, and this is clearly what happened with Vietnam, and it has now happened with Iraq as well. Nobody denies that bad things do happen, but it is the degree, extent, and context of those events that need to be reported accurately instead of wildly and wrongly perpetrated upon the military and on this country. Liberals have taken unusual and non-typical events and have spun them to imply that this has been the normal operating procedure on a daily basis.

John Kerry should hang his head in shame what he did to this country. It is absolutely despicable what the leftists have done in this regard, and it is one of the reasons I am a staunch conservative. At least Mr. Pitkin had the honor to straigten the record and apologize to the American people, and the country is still waiting for John Kerry. Instead they got a phony salute in Boston.

http://www.wintersoldier.com/staticpages/index.php?page=PitkinKLR

And the leftists attempted to smear the honorable Swift Boaters, they my friend were simply setting the record straight, as Mr. Pitkin did.

Actually, he isnt a "phony soldier".
He does qualify as a veteran, according to the DoD.

Just because you dont like him, dont try and say he isnt a veteran, when according to the military he is.

A phony soldier is one that claims to have served that didnt.
Probably like this guy...

There are more about him, just google "Atlantic City Mayor".
BTW, he is a democrat, if that matters.
