Tres, You said Iraq should demonstrate they have no interest in developing WMD. I said how can they do that?

Or is that too simple a question for you to entertain? If so, I will gladly "skim back" and frame another question draped in $10 words, using your thread as a reference.

Lola, Interesting to consider that of the 6 examples cited in the parody, three are today united under a Non-US Corporate Umbrella, two have merged, and the remainder is a Dutch-owned firm which has just assumed distribution control of another of America's Vanishing Oil Companies.

The wonderful world of mega-finance; it is certainly becoming Global Business, Incorporated. Whatever happened to the good old home-grown monopoly?. Well, I guess there's always Microsoft. Mr. Green

No, it's just a simple question that I already answered, in detail. You can either read that answer or not. Your choice. I'm frankly bored with your consistantly antagonistic tone and at this point could not care less what you do.

Snood, Tress doesn't liked to be pressed to support what he writes, you'll find Tress unwilling to make connections, support claims, or even acknowledge having written what was plainly written. Tress will also offer as evidence, that which was written which only remotely relates, or relates not at all, to a question. My experience is that while it is good form and manners to attempt a step by step exchange with Tress, it will get you no where.

Snood - I'll trust you can read and make decisions for yourself.

Setanta - You've done me the immeasurable favor of deciding not to interact with me. Please have the good sense to extend that to not discussing me with others. Work on your own problems. I'll deal with mine, thanks.

*********RAZZLE DAZZLE 'EM*********

State of the Union address last minute preparation, Chicago style.

ARI(Spoken)
Mr. President, the moment is here

CARL(Spoken)
Thank you, Ari. Just a moment.
You ready?

PRESIDENT(Spoken)
Oh Carl, I'm scared.

CARL(Spoken)
Georgie, you got nothing to worry about.
It's all a circus, kid. A three ring circus.
These State of the Union things- the wholeworld- all show business.
But kid, you're working with a star, the biggest!
(Singing)
Give 'em the old razzle dazzle
Razzle Dazzle 'em
Give 'em an act with lots of flash in it
And the reaction will be passionate
Give 'em the old hocus pocus
Bead and feather 'em
How can they see with sequins in their eyes?

What if your hinges all are rusting?
What if, in fact, you're just disgusting?

Razzle dazzle 'em
And they;ll never catch wise!

Give 'em the old

CARL AND COMPANY (RUMMY, WOLFOWITZ, DICK - in garters, heels and boas)
Razzle dazzle 'em
Give 'em a show that's so splendiferous

CARL
Row after row will crow vociferous

CARL AND COMPANY
Give 'em the old flim flam flummox
Fool and fracture 'em

CARL
How can they hear the truth above the roar?

CARL AND COMPANY
Throw 'em a fake and a finagle
They'll never know you're just a bagel,

CARL
Razzle dazzle 'em
And they'll beg you for more!

CARL AND COMPANY
Give 'em the old razzle dazzle
Razzle Dazzle 'em
Back since the days of old Methuselah
Everyone loves the big bambooz-a-ler

Give 'em the old three ring circus
Stun and stagger 'em
When you're in trouble, go into your dance

Though you are stiffer than a girder
They let you get away with murder
Razzle dazzle 'em
And you've got a romance

Give 'em the old
Razzle Dazzle

CARL
Razzle dazzle 'em
Give 'em an act that's unassailable
They'll wait a year 'till you're available!

CARL AND COMPANY
Give 'em the old
Double whammy

CARL
Daze and dizzy'em
Show 'em the first rate sorcerer you are

CARL AND COMPANY
Long as you keep 'em way off balance
How can they spot you got no talents?

CARL
Razzle dazzle 'em

COMPANY
Razzle dazzle 'em

CARL
Razzle dazzle 'em

CARL AND COMPANY
And they'll make you a star!

goodness!....even Stormin Norman (or was it Homone Normone, I've forgotten now) thinks maybe, just maybe, this war at this time with these reasons is perhaps not a nifty idea...he's sort of "do elsewise"... (link at bottom)

I was wondering this morning, does anyone have an idea where this "they'll fall into line" bit of faith comes from? You know, the idea that if the US gets all loud and huffy bomb-wise, that other countries now on the fence will leap into Rummy's arms like third-date holdouts gone suddenly lusty ? Is this from Lao Tse or some leading edge "How To Be A Business CEO Who Means Business!" tome? Is this Tony Robbins? Leviticus? Where the hell does this come from?

One always feels some sympathy for another whose happy faith is finally revealed to be...um...unwarrantied. I confess some tender feeling for the administration thinking it might move heroically in concert with the coalition of Britain, Iceland, and the Grand Dutchy of Neismelshfutes.Webpage Title

All that will be missing is the tap dancing, blatham! (I think we should be thankful we will be spared the tap dancing).

The State of the Union is always a thinly veiled sales pitch -- it's a hat most presidents don't wear too well but with his Harvard Business College degree, look for the hook, the bait-and-switch and consistently hitting the hot button.

BTW, Blath -- your link posted stretched the page. You can use the URL link feature to edit it down and give it a seperate line.

No! We want tap dancing!

Close-up on one pair of black boots, slow heel to toe....expanding out to line of them....all in unison...louder....camera moves up to uniformed legs....Sadaam and his council...it would be wonderful!

I like to be with America!
OK by me with America!
Who'll keep us free? It's America
For a small fee from America!
