We'll all pray you're right, timber.

For some reason I feel the Iraqi people may not just hide in their closets while the Americans liberate their country, which suggests a bit of urban guerilla warfare to be waged.

We already have air superiority so as long as we have enough bombs to obliterate a nation the size of Texas (with a capital city of five million inhabitants; a bit larger than Houston Metro or Dallas- Ft.Worth) then, hey, no problemo.

Of course, if Saddam unleashes those WMD we say he has but can't seem to find, then it could get sticky. And if CNN manages to get a bit of video of piles of bodies of US soldiers being bulldozed into ditches, or if every oil well in Iraq starts burning, or if Saddam enters into urban mythology by shacking up with Osama and Elvis...

..then our war effort could develop a little PR issue.

Or if something horrible no one anticipates happens.

Hey, it's war after all.

To get back to the issue at hand---the following link is to an article in today's NYTimes about a man that SOME folks seem to want to remain in power.

<a man that SOME folks seem to want to remain in power.>

Wrong again, perception. Evil or Very Mad

And inflammatory, as usual. Twisted Evil

I'd be willing to bet that you cannot find one single person on this forum who would say that they'd like for Saddam to remain in power.

You're invited to prove me wrong...(and I certainly wish we could establish a sizable wager on the outcome...)

Also I think it interesting to note that this war won't be covered from the rooftop of some Iraqi hotel------every channel will have it's own reporter somewhere with the troops---re: reporter boot camp and conditioning----yep we sure want to deceive the Amercian public.

Seems this administration is back-tracking again; they say they're willing to wait a couple more weeks. What was so urgent before? c.i.

If there is anyone who wants Saddam out of power but doesn't want to go to war----please present a plan that will accomplish that.

I guess you could "wish upon a star"

perception, One strategy that will work to keep Saddam for developing his WMD is to keep the UN inspectors there for the next 20 to 25 years. That'll be much cheaper both dollar-wise and lives lost. By then, Saddam will be gone - hopefully. c.i.

Great plan-----except-----to keep Saddam from kicking the inspectors out requires our excessive military presence-----do you want to keep those troops there for 20--25 years?

perception, If Iraq kicks out the UN weapon's inspectors, the world community will be together to "kick ass." The response will be 'immediate' enough for this kid. Wink c.i.
