I was taught 'improper fraction', but not 'vulgar fraction'.

Thanks, Mame, for your explanation. As for the comma, I've read what you posted and I've also read three books on punctuation written by native speakers. But, somehow when confronted by whether to insert a comma, I'm confused. I hope you get what I mean. It's like knowing karate and the ability to defend oneself in a real situation. Do you get the picture?

Seeing as how everybody seems to have different opinions, just do what you think best. You're going to have to at some point, anyway. See, many people wouldn't put that comma in before "anyway", but that's the way I was raised.

Anyone here disagree with it and might be able to explain it to Yoong? I'm off to have a shower.
