Why won't you be approved?
If the people who you usually work for are reluctant to assign you something, that's pertinent right there.
You either can work -- in which case you're bringing in money -- or you can't work -- in which case you are eligible for various safety nets.
I think I've said this before but part of what I used to do professionally was advocate for people who had applied for SSI or SSDI. It really seemed like the default response was rejection, and then the people who raised a stink once rejected got the second look.
I know stink-raising takes energy though.
(You have a social worker tending to this stuff, right?)
