@edgarblythe,
Edgar, You ain't no pest. You'd be able to tell if I thought you were from my responses.

At the moment, I'm not so much concerned as I am annoyed. As my grandma used to say, "Ganoog is ganoog." (Enough is enough.)

My diagnosis is that my metabolism is off. I'll find out.

@dlowan,
Unoff it, I assume.

I'm already taking medication for hypothyroidism. Maybe I'll have to take something else.

All this came about after I was cured of the bacterial infection. Maybe it threw off my system.

In a woid, "Quien sabe?" (two woids)

I saw the internist. Now in addition to my appointments for a stress test (COPD) and with a cardiologist, I also have to see an ENT. Is my throat cancer back? I'll know next week. I also gave urine and had a blood test. There's a chance I may have diabetes or some other metabolic problem. I also have to go for a chest X-ray and a mammogram.

Thud. The thud is for my fatigue at schlepping back and forth to the hospital for all those steenkin' tests.

@Roberta,
My god I hope the throat cancer isn’t back!

COPD is forever....hope it’s not getting worse.

As for the rest....good luck!

The metabolic issues are resolved. All tests normal.

My COPD is misbehaving. I have two new meds. I'll see how they do.

My stomach is acting up. If the dreaded bacterium is back, I may become violent.

I see the cardiologist manana.

@Roberta,
Metabolic - good to read

COPD - is it at all weather related?

Stomach acting up...possible violenc? - I'll hide in the next county.

Here's to all going well at the cardiologist visit.

(Why are medical appointments called 'visits', as if they're somehow a bunch of fun?)

@Sturgis,
They are called visits because the freaking doctors think you are bored and come to see them to break the monotony of your life. I think a lot of the docs don't really like to deal with patients........they can get so much more accomplished if they didn't have to deal with these sick people.

Forgive me my little rant, I've been seeing specialists who send me to other specialists who then recommend I seek second opinions from even more specialists. It's taken me almost 3 years to solve a problem with a cough, that belatedly was diagnosed as a bacteria in my esophagus....that they missed in the first broncioscopy...and 4 days after assurances that my lungs were fine...I wound up in the hospital with pneumonia In June 2017......So in sept 2018, I was gasping for air, weak as hell and hospitalized to rule out heart problems....and hooray...heart is fine so they sent me home as sick as I was when I was admitted......then there was a three month wait to even see my regular GI and another month and a half to undergo more tests (they are really busy with all the folks waiting to spend quality time with doctors)......After additional tests, regular GI goes into holy **** mode and sends me to surgeon because she finally realizes I have two diaphragmatic hernias and my colon slips up into my chest and compresses my lungs. Well, now I'm just getting pissy....hopefully the surgeon will still see me on Feb 21st and agree to fix the problem. He's really really busy seeing all the lonely folks who want to bother him (and apparently the only surgeon in the entire State of Maryland who can fix this)......but what the hell...as long as I don't try to stand or talk ........ I'll wait....

I agree. That thread about my husbands health for instance. Now that my head is clearer after watching him apparently dying for my eyes, and all the hospital people IMO basically giving up on him. I had to fight tooth and nail to get him anything after discharge. When we saw his regular cardiologist of 20 years, Dr V, he was really pissed off they kept discharging him with unresolved issues. He said “Next time to have to take him to the ER, bring him to the North hospital where I will be in charge. I never would have let him be discharged.” He’s still not out of the woods, but at least he can freaking breathe and isn’t falling every time he tries to walk.

@chai2,
That's something at least.

I had a similar experience when my wife was dying. They gave her a spinal shunt to relieve the pressure on her brain. She was still dying, but at least she wasn't talking **** anymore and getting into arguments.
