@Sturgis,
They are called visits because the freaking doctors think you are bored and come to see them to break the monotony of your life. I think a lot of the docs don't really like to deal with patients........they can get so much more accomplished if they didn't have to deal with these sick people.
Forgive me my little rant, I've been seeing specialists who send me to other specialists who then recommend I seek second opinions from even more specialists. It's taken me almost 3 years to solve a problem with a cough, that belatedly was diagnosed as a bacteria in my esophagus....that they missed in the first broncioscopy...and 4 days after assurances that my lungs were fine...I wound up in the hospital with pneumonia In June 2017......So in sept 2018, I was gasping for air, weak as hell and hospitalized to rule out heart problems....and hooray...heart is fine so they sent me home as sick as I was when I was admitted......then there was a three month wait to even see my regular GI and another month and a half to undergo more tests (they are really busy with all the folks waiting to spend quality time with doctors)......After additional tests, regular GI goes into holy **** mode and sends me to surgeon because she finally realizes I have two diaphragmatic hernias and my colon slips up into my chest and compresses my lungs. Well, now I'm just getting pissy....hopefully the surgeon will still see me on Feb 21st and agree to fix the problem. He's really really busy seeing all the lonely folks who want to bother him (and apparently the only surgeon in the entire State of Maryland who can fix this)......but what the hell...as long as I don't try to stand or talk ........ I'll wait....
