Thanks to Letty and ButtrflyNet for the wonderful birthday wishes.
Back from Bellevue. Spent two hours waiting on my birthday. Snarl.
Saw the endocrine doc. Thyroid levels normal. Vitamin D levels normal. No need to change meds.
Saw Sheila for a preappointment meal. She had lunch. I had breakfast (silver dollar pancakes and bacon). No room for cake. I stuck a candle in a pancake and lit it. Sheila sang Happy Birthday to me very softly. I made a wish and blew out the candle. Then she ordered a piece of chocolate layer cake for me to take home. What a good kid she is. Also a mensch.
BTW, when I arrived for my appointment, there were about 30 people standing. All out of chairs. I resigned myself to a long and horrible wait. But a woman jumped up and gave me her seat. When I was finally called, another woman leapt up to help me gather my belongings and get out of the chair. I said to the doc that I must look really old and feeble for those people to do that. Then I said, "Isn't that great!" No standing.
