I think you should re-read the answers you were already given.

Hi Mame

I was clear about everything except 'pay for the taxi'. I've read what has been posted a few times. But the only sentence that confuses me is we can say 'pay for the taxi'.

Many thanks.

After the tourist paid the taxi fare, he carried his luggage into the hotel.

The tourist did not pay the taxi fare, his wife did. She paid for the ride from the airport.

Its also possible that he paid for the Taxi.[/[/b]quote]

Come on, Yoong... see the sentence in bold.

He paid for the taxi RIDE. Or he paid the TAXI fare (bill).

He paid for the Taxi is correct besides the above sentences.

Thanks, Mame, I got it!

Thank you very much.

I got it too.

Should I write "comma" after "it"?

Mr Nice, A simple thank you will do.

I do not consider myself dear in terms of our relationship.

It can be annoying when someone is overly familiar.

I would use a comma in front of the "too". JMO.

Don't know where gargamel is. I'll take a shot at it. The comma is optional. Not wrong but not necessary.

Smile Just the way we were taught. A lot of those old standy-bys have gone the way of the dodo, however.
