tell me Thomas, are you witty AND ironical, like Edmund Blackadder? (Except in the first series, sans Ben Elton...)

I'm afraid not; I never uttered an ironic sentence in my life. Dare I hope witty alone is good enough to make it into your bed, or at least into your bubble bath?

Witty is good, but are you warm and highly intelligent? Well, we know the second...are you warm and cuddly?

(I doubt you on the irony, you know, you German jokester.)

Yes to both. I still have a slight fever, which takes care of the "warm" factor. And back in May, Squinney managed to cuddle me from time to time, without major difficulty for all I noticed. You may want to compare notes with her.

Have you ever seen the British comedian Dudley Moore by any chance? I discovered him only last year, along with Peter Cook. He's very funny, and I assume he got his nickname "Cuddly Dudley" for a reason.

since squinney and I were still together with no hint of separation at that time I'm surprised to hear of any cuddling...is there something I should know?

No, as far as I remember, the cuddles were all Platonic. But you kept filling me up with enormous quantities of this Very Guilty Shiraz all the time, so I'm not sure if I remember everything. (Hmmmm ... given my memory, I should probably be your next Attorney General.)

Of course I knew Dudley Moore.

Now you need to find Peter Cook.

Beth...if you don't stop "aheming" I'll sit on you.

Tangent, tangent - Thomas...

one of my favorite restaurants was co-owned by Dudley Moore. There was a grand piano in the dining room for him...

some links (superior meatloaf and gravy, oh, boy):

http://www.openlist.com/restaurants-view-3103928720-72_market_street-venice_-ca.htm

http://www.arcspace.com/calif/build/72market.htm (I'd forgotten Morphosis did the architecture - that was a small firm now larger on the world architecture stage.)

good cookbook by the restaurant's chef (at least the chef when I used to go there)

I thought the restaurant had closed, but maybe not, re that first link on google.

Back to irony, or the lack thereof.

I love all the periods of Black Adder. Makes me laugh out loud. The actor (Rowan A.........sp) also writes very interesting pieces on automobiles as well.
