Its a bit difficult understanding the odds on Aus England.

I said it might be sort of match you can win either way with. And it is

The best price in Australia for England to win is 4.5 which I assume means odds of 1:4.5 or probability of 0.182.

The best price I could find in England for Australia to win is 1:4 or probability of 0.8.

Therefore if you put most of your money on Australia, and a little bit on England, you could walk away from the bookies with a (small) profit, actually 2% of your stake, which ever team won. EXCEPT that this does not take into consideration a draw which means that in practice its not worth it.

Come on Johnny, kick that ball where it hurts 'em.

(for anyone interested in betting as I suggested, I'll come back with the exact proportion of stake monies to be allocated in a while)

here i am in a while
lost my paper
gotta smile

found my paper
here it is
GO ON ENGLAND
do the biz

Australia to win best price in England 1:4 that is 0.8 probability
England to win best price in Australia 9:2 that is 0.182 probability

So allocate your bet 81.5 cents in the dollar Australia and 18.5 cents in the dollar England.

YOU WIN with either team winning

(dont ask me what happens if they draw)

The game kicks off at 2pm GMT. That's just over 5 hours from now here.

It's 12.45am according to the A2K 'clock'. That means kick-off is at 6am A2K time.

I'm remembering why I only watch this game every 4 years. It's so boring and over-regulated.

thats funny, all gone quiet.

well its been a glorious late summer/early autumnal day here. Went for a ride along the river, ducks swans grebes herons. A new hide with 5 cameras that you can pan around with. Cycled on to riverside cafe excellent bacon sandwich.

Then back to my local for a couple of jars of Hobgoblin, where there was a rugby match on a huge HD plasma tv.

And there in beautiful Marseilles sunlight was JOHNNY WILKINSON with his bum sticking in the Aussies face and blowing them out of the world cup.

Good morning dp mrsdp wilso olga and all my Australian friends. Isnt it great to be alive? Laughing

I'm here to face the music.

Have to hand it to the poms they played pressure rugby and forced error after error from the wallabies.

Would have done better if Gregan stopped chatting to the umpire and put the ball in to the scrums. The English front row were on top all day.

Aust played like a bunch of hacks! fumbling and dropping the ball, late to the breakdowns if at all, missed goals... ahhh crap

And the Kiwis Shocked

Ahahaha! YES!!!! Oh Johnny boy! The poles ,the poles are caaaaaalllliiiiing, its you must kick, and Aussies go!

Fantabulistical!!! Amazing! Fantastische! Wunderbar!!

NZ and Aussies out! wow, for once we dont have to deal with their cocky, arrogant crap!

Well, actually, I would rather at least one of NZ or Aussies had won, because I really don't think either France or England played good enough rugby in the tournament to get to the final. I would prefer it if the all blacks had won, the Aussies can keep their cricket!

It's not as though we played fantastic rugby against Fiji either, it was almost another upset, imagine that!

And now that it is a mathematical certainty South Africa will win the cup, it seems to have lost its value, knowing that we will NOT have defeated rugby's best (ie New Zealand) to win the title. Sweet and Sour.

Thanks Aussies and All Blacks for handing us the trophy, yay!
