Whoever used the most insane rationale for their picks would be this week's winner.

I think this is hardest I've ever laughed at work.

R is truly offended that the hairy hamster protocol worked as well as it did.

My oh my.

The mascot song as selection criterion worked! Plus Penny can play any time, so far's I'm concerned. Wink

When I was waxing happy last evening about San Diego doing well against Indy, I was clearly out to lunch; remember, I don't have a tv, I was checking in with yahoo sport's game channel.

Just now I read this (oy) -

Rather than repost yesterday's listing of the weekly standings -- we each have one more than that number. I checked the ESPN expert tally and was pleased to see none of them did better than 7-7 this week. Kudos to all the folks here (including penny) who bested the best.

Overall the experts range from a low of 78-66 to a high of 93-51. Looks like we're doing a pretty good job as a whole!

Our overall standings are getting very interesting --

10 of the 20 regular players are tightly bunched over a six game spread. The rest of us have some work to do.

1 Ragman 94-50 0.653
2 CowDoc 93-51 0.646
3 realjohnboy 92-52 0.639
4 ehbeth 91-53 0.632
4 wandeljw 91-53 0.632
6 LionTamerX 90-54 0.625
7 cicerone imposter 90-54 0.625
8 ossobuco 89-55 0.618
9 Region Philbis 88-56 0.611
9 jespah 88-56 0.611
11 Ticomaya 79-51 0.608
12 lmur 86-58 0.597
13 fbaezer 85-59 0.590
14 panzade 84-60 0.583
15 Pantalones 83-61 0.576
15 edgarblythe 83-61 0.576
17 Rockhead 31-24 0.564
18 George 80-64 0.556
18 JPB 80-64 0.556
20 jpinMilwaukee 48-41 0.539
21 Mrs CowDoc 64-66 0.492

And the average weekly place standings are tightening up too. osso and ci are consistently near the top over the weekly leaders. This will help them as we move forward into the season, particularly if those above them in the standings continue to run hot and cold.

1 Ragman 5.6 5.27
2 CowDoc 6.1 4.98
3 realjohnboy 6.2 5.03
4 cicerone imposter 6.3 3.77
5 Region Philbis 7.0 5.48
6 ossobuco 7.3 3.89
7 LionTamerX 7.5 4.99
8 ehbeth 7.8 4.57
9 wandeljw 8.0 5.31
10 fbaezer 8.4 6.33
11 Pantalones 9.1 6.81
12 lmur 9.9 5.63
13 panzade 10.0 5.54
14 jespah 10.3 8.06
15 Ticomaya 10.3 6.61
16 George 10.6 5.66
17 edgarblythe 10.6 4.97
18 JPB 10.8 6.49
19 Rockhead 12.3 6.24
20 jpinMilwaukee 12.3 5.57
21 Mrs CowDoc 15.2 4.02
